“I got a great haircut from Avery! I came to my appointment with a clear sense of what I wanted and a complete inability to effectively describe it, and Avery was able to make it happen. Their prices are super reasonable and we ended up having extra time so they gave me a wash and style at the end of my cut.The space itself is sort of whatever to me, but Avery did a great job giving me a look that worked with my hair texture and the aesthetic I was hoping for, and one that requires, as I want, very little to be done to it in the morning. Would definitely go back next time I am in need of a haircut in Oakland, and have convinced a few of my local friends to try them out!“

“Went for curly cut with Antoinette. I was 10 minutes late (I wouldn't recommend this. If you drive, give yourself ample time to find parking). Place is cozy but you and your stylist have adequate space. Appreciated the "tea room" where you can change, hang your coat, and grab a snack and/or beverage. Cut was phenomenal and Antoinette was efficient but friendly.“

“Have been going to Nick for about 6 months. Very happy with his work on my unruly, wavy short/medium length hair. The salon has a relaxed, low pressure vibe. No product hard sell. Always does his best to make you look and feel great. Booking system works well. His dog Milo is an added bonus.“

“Great little place for kids- I bring my 2 year old toddlers here, and they get to sit in the Disney's Cars inspired chairs, so they can get their haircuts while honking the horns and driving. Nice staff, and there's also a big playroom for kids who are waiting for their cuts. It's not cheap as haircuts are around $17 each, but there are plenty of groupons and other local coupons that they send out.“

“Chelsea does a really high quality hair cut, and does it with great service- from conversation, to scalp massage during hair wash, to careful styling iteration with feedback that she actually remembers between appointments, to the straight-razor neck/ear shave. Her new space at Marquee Salon is chic in it's minimalism with sizable mirrors. Booking has always been easy. The only drawback for me has been the price matching the quality (was about $75 for the slightly longer time mens cut + wash + scalp massage, without beard trimming). That said, it's good value and the quality stands for itself.“
