Back home in Singapore I go for pilates and ballet barre classes 2-4x a week and have worked with several instructors over the years. I usually look for boutique/niche experiences and expert, experienced instructors with a loyal following. This is a 6-month update. I can't say how lucky I feel that I found Empilates. It's been a highlight of my week since I started. Emily's new studio is clean, quiet, serene, and beautiful. And technique-wise I can really see myself improving. The value you get with Emily is extremely high.

I began taking pilates classes this year and I think that Emily is the best instructor. She explains things thoroughly, always keeps an eye on my form, and within the short amount of time we've known each other, has already developed a sense of what I like, what I'm good at, and areas that need improvement. I've taken both the reformer and mat classes and enjoyed both. Unlike other studios, classes are kept pretty small, which allows Emily to give enough attention to each student. The studio is bright and clean, too. Parking does get tough here, so I recommend allowing a few extra minutes to circling the area for a spot. I usually park pretty far up Santa... read full review
