My husband had an extremely serious and challenging heart condition- an badly infected valve that needed replacement. Dr. Kahn was the surgeon. He determined that he could do a port procedure instead of opening up the whole chest. This takes a talented surgeon supported by a talented staff. That Dr. Kahn has great skill is unmistakable. But it is also important to recognize the support from his staff. Every staff member we had contact with, from the surgery team to follow up by the PA's reflected excellence. They not only know their medicine, they do a fine job of communicating what they know. They fielded questions, and made valuable suggestions. The care from this team resulted in a much more rapid recovery than we could have anticipated.
After consulting with my PCP to discuss the tightness I was experiencing in my chest, I was sent for testing that included a stress test, angiogram, and echocardiogram. All tests showed abnormalities with my heart and confirmed my heart disease. I needed triple bypass surgery. I had never had surgery before so of course, my first one had to be the grand slam of surgeries. I was referred to Dr. Khan for my surgery, and during my pre-OP preparation, both he and his staff took care of me in every sense of the word. They prepared me both emotionally and mentally on what the entire procedure would consist of which gave me a level of comfort that I needed to experience so I wouldn't feel too anxious and nervous. The day of my surgery, once again his staff was phenomenal as I was being prepared for surgery. Bottom line, the surgery was a complete success! I'm 5 weeks out, I feel better than I have in years, I'm healthier than I've been in years, and the post-OP care has been wonderful. Literally, Dr. Khan and his staff, with the Grace of our Almighty God, saved my life and gave me a 2nd chance at life. For that, I am eternally grateful. I would give Dr. Khan and his entire staff 10 stars if I could. Just an amazing team. I am truly blessed!
My husband is 58 and had to have a sternotomy to replace his heart valve. It was a stressful time for him and our entire family. It was made significantly better by the care he received from Dr Kahn and his staff. When you go through something like this you want to know you're in capable hands. We felt that was the case with every person we encountered. Bobbi and Ttori in the front office are caring, real and went the extra mile to make sure my husband was taken care of. From labs, to paperwork and all the stuff you have to deal with but don't want to! At the hospital we mainly dealt with Jessica but also saw Lauren (Physician's Assistants). They took the fear out of the ordeal by being available and taking the time to make sure all our questions were answered. My husband was cared for and comfortable with Jessica because she is smart, knowledgeable, caring and dare I say fun! The surgery was a success and we are grateful to Dr. Kahn. He did an incredible job and my husband has a new lease on life. I hope you or your loved one's are never in this situation. But if you're reading this, you probably are! If that's the case, this is a team you can trust with your life.
