I made the mistake of hiring Steve Kay and Caribbean Pool Service to maintain my pool less than three months ago. In that short time, my pool went from gorgeous to garbage. He obviously did not add sufficient chemicals, and the pool was never adequately cleaned. I should have terminated the service immediately, but I made the mistake of giving Steve the opportunity of making it right. He didn't. I have had this pool for over 45 years. I had it replastered about five years ago. Before these incompetents took over, it was ALWAYS maintained well. In that entire 45 year period, I had only two other pool services and they each did a great job. With service like this, I don't know how Caribbean can keep any customers. Do yourself a HUGE favor and do not hire this incompetent outfit.
Very unprofessional! Wants to do the least amount of work as possible. Our pool pump is clearly leaking and kept telling us there's nothing wrong and didn't want to do anything about it. One day I was at work and my father in law came by to check on the dogs while Steve was there cleaning the pool. He told my father in law the pool water was too low and was ruining the pump. Instead of turning the pump off until I got home he decided to turn on the water and left with it on! When I came home 5 hours later the water was still on and the pool was overflowing. Can't wait to get that water bill!!! Highly recommend not working with this company!
I had some bubbling to the side of my pool. My pool guy told me it's a pump issue and needs to be repaired. Since I have a home warranty through American home shield, they assigned my service call to Steve at Caribbean pool service. He arrived, and with a bad attitude, said it's definitely not a pump issue and the piping has a leak! He said to get a leak detection company. I had them come and do a full leak detection, and paid $350 out of my pocket, and they found absolutely no leak, and confirmed that the pump is damaged! I asked my warranty for a second opinion, and they confirmed that the pump is damaged and it will be replaced. Apparently, the personnel in this company don't know their job. Steve couldn't recognize a damaged non functional pool pump, which makes me doubt his ability greatly, especially since three other pool specialist confirmed that the pump is not working right away! Add to this the bad attitude and strange, disrespectful comments he makes, and I'll definitely not use them for any work even if it's covered by the warranty!
