2639 Lavery Ct #7, Newbury Park
Conejo Heating, Air, Plumbing and Electrical Hvac

“I just had a new central heater and new ducting installed in my home by Conejo Heating and Austin and his team did a fantastic job! I'm very particular (maybe a little OCD) about the quality of work and I had no issues. Not only were they professional and very competent, but they were friendly and polite which made working with them a pleasant experience as opposed to other contractors we have all experienced in the past. They are definitely my "go-to" company for heating/air and plumbing in the future. In fact, I'm reaching out to them in the next couple of days for a plumbing job I need. I feel I can trust them to give me a fair price and amazing quality of work. Thanks guys! Richard“

Conejo Valley Heating & Air Plumbing & Rooter Hvac

“Over the years we have purchased an HVAC system and a water heater from Conejo. Both systems are excellent. We have found the technicians and supervisors at Conejo to be prompt, courteous, highly professional and honest. When our homeowners association threw us a curve on an installation, Conejo accommodated and modified our installation, actually saving us money. Aside from all this, everyone we worked with was friendly and very good at their respective jobs.“

Acosta Heating and Air Conditioning Hvac

“Pacific Air said my motherboard was burned out and my fuses were burned out and then I needed a whole new system for 17 K. The next day I called Acosta and they came and repaired everything for $90 in less than 30 minutes. Can't say enough good about them. They're not trying to rip people off.“

Aladdin Air Conditioning & Heating Hvac

“Excellent service all around. They were knowledgable, prompt with all replies and followups, and thorough in providing service. In replacing our old heating furnace with a new heat pump HVAC unit, they took care of everything. No need to subcontract with electricians or roofers or anybody else. They even helped us in arranging appointments with the building inspectors required by the state and city. Highly recommend them with Dwayne as our primary contact and lead on the project.“

Southland Heating & Air Conditioning Hvac

“INTEGRITY. COMPETENCY. OPEN AND TRUTHFUL COMMUNICATIONS. QUALITY OF WORK. TIMELY FOLLOW-UP. PREFACE: The idea of hiring contractors often comes with a degree of anxiety. One knows that there are some projects that are best left to people trained to do that type of work versus tackling the project yourself. Yet for many of us, as we do our research and consider who to hire for a project, we often wonder things like: * Is the company or individual competent? * Can I trust that they will do a good job? *Will it be worth the price I am being asked to pay? * In the end, how do I really know that they did what they said they would do? And so much more.... Online reviews, referrals from people you may know and vetting from 3rd parties can help to an extent, but in the end you never fully know until the work is completed and the project is signed off. Rarely do things go entirely smoothly and to plan no matter the number of stars and praise you may read online. And the more the project is going to cost you, the more skepticism and concern may creep in. THE REVIEW: Having said the above, to me, when I am spending tens of thousands of dollars on a project I have very high expectations that the job will be done right, one time, on budget and that the company or individuals that are to do the work will exhibit INTEGRITY, COMPETENCY, OPEN AND TRUTHFUL COMMUNICATIONS, QUALITY OF WORK AND TIMELY FOLLOW-UP. Anything less is simply unacceptable and should not be tolerated. In August, we embarked on a fairly significant home improvement project. It involved the replacement of our heating and A/C system with new energy-efficient equipment, tearing out and replacing the ducting supporting the new system, and the third critical component - getting rid of the old, outdated insulation and replacing it with a new, higher efficiency product. After getting a few quotes, we chose Southland Heating and Air Conditioning. Why? * Our project rep RAY showed a high degree of competency from the very start and educated us on some of the finer points of heating and A/C as it exists today. We got to better understand the City Permitting process and something called HERS Testing. Helpful. He provided a timely quote and consistent communications as we signed the deal and got the work scheduled. Others in his company also aided in the ongoing communications and coordination effort. * They had solid reviews and credentials online in places like Yelp, the BBB and the CA State Licensing Bureau. Insurance and bonding appears up to date, etc. Our project had a few parts to it and was to last 3 days. 1. The removal of all of the old insulation, rodent disposal and sealing, spray disinfecting and then later after Part 2 was completed, the installation (blow-in) of new insulation. This portion of the job was subbed out by Southland to what appeared to be an established and well-regarded home insulation company. 2. Remove old equipment in the attic and replace it with new equipment. Replace the ducting with new ducting. 3. Blow-in new insulation via a 3rd party company (also see #1 above). In this review, I will stick to reviewing Southland and their main focus which was #2 above. Parts 1 and 3 and the company involved in the insulation work will get a brief mention in this review, although I'll be reviewing them in much greater detail in a separate review. Southland's personnel showed up as scheduled, installed the various equipment components and ducting, cut in a few new air returns, hauled away the old stuff etc. per our agreement. They managed to avoid breaking anything during this venture and cleaned up nicely. The one thing that I'd give them a small demerit for was in the area of the final paperwork. For that, I had to ask them numerous times to provide me with the items and it took longer than it should have. But other than that.... Job well done. And the system passed the HERS testing and the city signed off on the project. Excellent. SOUTHLAND gets an A- grade. I recommend them if you need A/C & heating work done. Now as for the insulatio“
