“This salon is such a treasure. It's a family owned business next to the neighborhood of Lincoln Acres in National City, where I live, so I just walk over for my appointments! The owner Jacelle is outstanding. Everyone knows her for her expertise in styling and color. And all the talk is spot on! I'm now a new mom- she recently lightened my hair and gave me an updated haircut which I absolutely love. I left there feeling so special. And an added plus, she is very kind and respectful, where I have good down to earth conversation- so refreshing! “I walked in and was greeted by the three ladies. Josefina took care of me and did great! I asked for a 2 on top with a mid bald fade and boy did she deliver! To top it off, I asked her to clean up my eyebrows with the razor and even that she executed well. All this for a really reasonable price. “They seem to want to get everyone that walks in and calls into a customer as soon as possible. That's fine though considering they are still relatively new. I wanted to get a massage from here since the very first day it opened. If you don't show up on time, they will call you and remind you of going there (even if you didn't give them your number) They changed their name from King Spa to Serenity. They seem very nice. They accept short notice appointments which is very good. What I really liked about it was she actually asked me ahead of time, "do you want gentle or hard?" I said medium and she was OK with that. This place is sooooo much better than "So Relax" at the mall. She asked me to take off my clothes, and she left the room and closed it for privacy, then came back and gave me a massage. (Don't worry about her seeing your junk as you will be draped with a sheet there. But they massage ur moobs, so girls, if u don't want them to massage ur boobs, let them know ahead of time) She did a very good job. She did make negative comments like, "you have a big stomach" but nothing major and when I said, "um, sorry?" she said "it's OK" and was nice again. They massage you all the way from your head to your toes.. literally.. cuz I got a head massage with this too. They accept credit cards. The only real problem, that isn't all that bad, is that they expect a $10 minimum tip. When I tried tipping $4 (I didn't have any cash on me except that) she refused to sign my "Buy 10 massages, get the 11th free" card cuz I didn't tip full price. So be warned that when you get a massage here, EXPECT to pay $10+ as a tip. Other than that great and excellent massage place and I would love to go here again. And I will give her the rest of the tip for my 1st time there when I go to that little market area again.“

“No one's made a review recently so I will.

First off, I have REALLY bad hair phobia. Stemming from a traumatic hair cut, years back, I RARELY let people cut my hair. The usual person I go to, wasn't in and is always booked. I needed a hair trim and wasn't panicking at the limited options. Don't judge.. IYKTYK.

I call, they say come in since they open at 9. I showered before coming and got seated right away. I told the lady, Lay Narong, that I just wanted a V-Cut trim to cut the dead ends with face framing pieces. She said no problem and she will do it. The entire process took about an hour and a half, including blow dry and simple hair styling nothing too much.

The reason I'm taking one star away is because the place could use an upgrade and some cleaning/organizing since their stuff js kinda cluttered everywhere. The workers here are older who work with older people (Grandmas who want short hair cuts, black hair dyes, poodle perms, etc). It got packed pretty quick and soon, luckily I came early, got busy. So expect a wait time if you show up on a weekend, a few hours after opening! It's an older hair salon so don't expect too much.

I was a walk in so I didn't expect to get seated right away. Lay was really quiet and gentle with me, didn't feel like I was getting judged by my dry scalp. She mentioned that I did need to trim my layers if I wanted a healthier head of hair so I agreed.

After I was done, I noticed it was healthier but still kept my length as much as possible. I paid $50 (including tip) and she was really nice. They charge $1 for using debit/credit so keep that in mind. I'd definitely go back to Lay, and I do have confidence that it DOES matter who you go to.

Respectfully, if you're younger and possibly want something that is trending now in hairstyles or even was something similar to a photo reference, go see Lay. Everyone else is older in age and may not fully grasp what you want.“

“We arrived about 3 minutes after our scheduled appointment however they were able to accomodate us immediately. It was my daughter's 1st time ever getting her haircut and she really enjoyed her time. She loved the extra glitters added to her hair at the end and made her feel like a real princess.“
