We had a non-emergent but urgent situation our pet needed to be seen for. When we called to find out if we could bring her in they were very kind. We were greeted on arrival by friendly staff at the front. Triage tech was sooo wonderful and kind. A Dr passed by and commented on how sweet our pup was and she wanted to be the one to see her. After some further conversation and discovery that she may need dental X-rays, the tech let us know they don't do dental X-rays there and therefore she probably wouldn't be able to be treated. We appreciated the honesty and ability to find an alternative place to take her. We would definitely go back if the need arose.
I will think about contacting you. I'm reluctant to do so because I don't want to hear about how Mars Corporation, when they purchased VCA in 2017 for millions, bragged about their "infusion of capital". This enabled VCA to purchase all kinds of fancy equipment. Well, thank you. That did not come for free. We, the customers, are paying for that infusion of money and that equipment. Which, by the way, is not necessary to have in every office. I can go to a veterinarian who does not have that equipment and, if needed, I can go elsewhere to have specialized tests done with that equipment. Not a big deal. And I will argue that all that technology and equipment is not helpful in developing the critical thinking of veterinarians. It's like relying on a calculator when you don't understand arithmetic.
If you like to hurry up and wait, this is the place for you. VCA reminds me of that old skit.....Who's on First. Double messages by doctors vs the Techs. It's a crazy place. I think they are just so busy, they just are always on overload.
