Dr. Han and his dedicated team saved our cat's life! Our beloved cat, Kiwi, had mysteriously lost almost 5lbs and was walking only in circles. We took her to 3 different veterinary clinics, and almost drove her down to Mexico for a MRI, but the day before doing so I took her to Oso Pet Care Center. I suspected she may have been suffering from nose polyps but Dr. Han's first thought was to run a test for a somewhat rare fungal disease called Cryptococcus. It came back positive so, although we were worried about her prognosis, we were relieved that someone could finally tell us what was happening to our sweet girl. Kiwi was days away from requiring euthanasia, she was in critical condition and was really suffering. Fortunately for us, she was in good hands-- Dr. Han and his team formulated an excellent strategy for her treatment. Though expensive, as all veterinary things seem to be these days, the quality of care was top-notch. Dr. Han did his very best to ensure he got her back to a healthy condition. The treatment was semi-experimental as his team had not encountered this condition first hand before but Dr. Han consulted with different colleagues and professionals to make sure he provided the best treatment possible for Kiwi. I know he did a lot of "behind the scenes" research and really dedicated a lot of his time to her case. Today, we are still fighting the fungal disease but I am grateful to say that Kiwi is back to her healthy, active and happy self. We thought we were about to lose a member of our family but thanks to Dr. Han this story has a happy ending!

This review is strictly about Dr. Han (and not the other doctor) and Oso Pet Care Center. PROS: 1. Ease of scheduling an appointment and availability, even in an emergency, even for new patients. They always find the time to see our dogie(s) when they need a "sick visit." Same with annuals and dentals. When our older (12.5yo) girl's condition deteriorated in March 2024 and we wanted her to be seen immediately, they did not hesitate, we scheduled an appointment the same day. She passed 2 days later but Dr. Han was there with us every step on the way, calling, emailing, checking on her. I will never forget that, forever grateful. 2. Dr. Han is definitely an asset to this place! He is the reason we go there. Dr. Han is knowledgeable, empathic, caring, compassionate, honest, professional, and has amazing bedside manners. He takes the time to explain in a way that the lay person would understand, I do not feel rushed, there is no judgment, no pressure, no demands, just concern - concerns with the wellbeing of the animal and what works best for the "parent." He is there for us, just an amazing human being. We've known him since 2015 (he was working at the Avery location) when he performed a laparoscopic neuter procedure on our cryptorchid boy. We traveled from San Diego to see him at the time as he was the cheapest laparoscopic vet in SoCal at the time. The compassion and care in his eyes when he cared for our baby boy - I'd never seen it elsewhere. When we moved to OC in 2020, we knew we had a vet in the area that we could trust. Bonus: Our dude is somewhat aggressive and mistrustful with vets but Dr. Han always knows how to deal with him and manage his "bratty" attitude. 3. Transparency. Prices and procedures are clearly communicated ahead of time and agreed upon before moving forward with anything (e.g., tests, x-rays, blood work, etc.). You always know what to expect. 4. Quality of care. The level of care and concern with the wellness of the pet are on a whole new level at this place ('ve only seen one other place like that when we lived in San Diego). They always follow up after procedures to see how the pet is doing. 5. Equipment. There is nothing they cannot do. It's a one stop place. Whatever you need to have your doggy done, they can do it. 6. Facility and location. Clean, spacious. modern, comfortable waiting area, and easy parking. 7. Friendliness of staff. CONS: 1. Pricy Prices are on the higher end in the industry, even for Orange County, but you get what you pay for. Definitely worth every penny. 2. I had a difficult time in the past getting a prescription (Revolution) to be transferred to an online pharmacy. It felt like they made it much harder than it needed to be. I am assuming because they wanted us to buy the medication from them. 3. Test heavy (I am not sure if this is positive or negative). There are two types of vets (in my mind) - those who want to absolutely clarify diagnosis, get to the bottom of the problem through testing, be sure, and play it safe before treating, and then the other type, who are willing to risk it a bit, experiment with treatment, even if they are not 100% sure of what's going on and there is no clear cause for the issue. Dr. Han is a diagnostician, which is not necessarily a bad thing (aside from the price of testing). I highly recommend Dr. Han and this place. The level of care you get with Dr. Han is on a whole new level. I have so much respect for him! We'll be back. P.S. During our last visit a week ago another doctor popped up in the room (while we were waiting for Dr. Han) and tried to take over, saying Dr. Han was running late. I had a difficult time with her bedside manner, bossy and dismissive, coming in and immediately starting to lecture us, trying to change how we fed our boy (free fed his whole life), saying he was overweight (without even touching him), and not at all listening to any of the things we said. I have no idea who she was but I have no interest in seeing her again. I insisted on having our

We are so happy to have found this place. We just moved to the area and found Oso Pet Care Center on Yelp/Google. The staff is kind, the office is super cute and homey, and we got the best care for our kitty. We love the text communication for setting up appointments and checking in, as we can't typically make phone calls during work hours. We really appreciated the clear communication regarding pricing and support to make sure our pet insurance had everything they needed to cover our visit. We will definitely be making this our regular vet!
