“I recently visited Foothill Square Dental Center and I am SOOOO glad I did! I was recently diagnosed with TMJ and after many attempts from my current dentist at fitting me with a customized mouth guard, my symptoms were not improving (headaches, jaw aches, trouble sleeping, teeth grinding resulting in chipped teeth). The mouth guards produced from my dentist were hard, extremely uncomfortable (painful to wear) and just weren't working for me. I spoke with Dr. Roy about it and she suggested I come in to get fitted with a one of their Mouth Guards. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical because I had already had 3 custom fitted mouth guards that didn't work. Whoa! The difference! “Today my son & I had the pleasure of going to Milpitas Children dentistry. My son has Autism, which makes going to the dentist an unfavorable activity due to sensory needs. We met with Dr.Richard who greeted us both and shook my hand. My son grabbed Dr.Richards hand they both walked to the room. Dr.Richard was explaining the steps to my son as we walked to the room making us both feel comfortable. Once we got to the room my son was a little bit nervous and started to express his nervousness and Dr. Richard was giving positive reinforcements. During the exam Dr.Richard was calm and patient with my son, he was praising my son for doing a good job and reassuring him that he’s going to be ok. I was surprised at how my son was handling it so well and I knew it was because of how Dr.Richard was making him feel safe. The exam and cleaning lasted 30 mins which I thought was great timing for our first visit. Dr. Richard was also very informative and gave me great feedback. If you have a child with special needs I definitely recommend Milpitas Children Dentistry. I am one of those moms that reads reviews and does research before I take my special needs sons anywhere. Recently my little one got a dent on her front teeth and it was about an half hour procedure and she made her feel so comfortable during the procedure that it felt it was just 10mins.
