Tammara Moore, DPT, OCS, CSCS Sports Medicine

“Tammara changed the whole picture of health for me after a chronic neck injury kept me from sleeping well, affecting my posture and pulling my core out of alignment. I spent over a year w a PT at another facility and arrived in the same pain when I had my first session. She worked closely with me, gave me a clear treatment plan, helped me understand how my neck was affecting other pain areas. You can feel the years of expertise in understanding the physiology of injuries in her hands. She facilitated the healing though ART manual therapy, Shockwave for myofascial breakdown and WinBack Tecar for pain and muscular release as part of my rehabilitation.I returned to see Dr. Moore after I had PRP therapy in my left hip since strengthening this area post injection is critical to the success. She gave me mobility pattern exercises and I was able to ski six weeks post!!Highly recommend her expertise to anybody looking to regain movement, has bodily restrictions or wants to improve their performance to the next level.“

“I had been working with Connor for 1-2 weeks when I got an MRI result telling me I had a torn labrum, with bursitis in my rotator cuff. I had very limited range of motion, not being able to hold my arm over my head or do a lateral raise without pain. I am a tennis player, and I hadn’t served in nearly two months. However over the following 5-6 weeks Connor worked very frequently with me to get my shoulder back on track. In that stretch Connor’s commitment and dedication to getting me healthy again showed in numerous ways. He would meet me as early as I needed, and would even get out on the tennis court early in the morning with me. I saw results very quickly. I first regained my strength, and then certain movements became less painful until ultimately it felt resolved. Connor is hyper analytical and has an answer for everything. He knows when to push and when to back off. He will give you extensive reports of your sessions and overall shows a sense of care, passion, commitment, and diligence that is extremely rare. I’m truly amazed at how quickly my shoulder has healed given the state of it 5-6 weeks ago. Thanks Connor!“

“I called up SSP and was able to get an appointment with physical therapist Anna Wong a few days later. Anna Wong was easy to talk to and along with the great staff, skillfully helped me with my back pain issues. When I later needed to get help with emergent shoulder rotator pain, they quickly assisted me with that as well. The combination of exercise, physical manipulation of the affected parts, and heated electro stimulation, I was soon on the road to better handle my physical issues.“

“Dr. Adolfo is incredible! My friend referred me as I had been looking for a good chiropractor for quite some time now. I've tried a few in the East Bay and they didn't quite work out.First, Dr Adolfo assesses where you might be feeling pain or discomfort. He puts together a plan for you through adjustments and exercises that can help. For me, I've had a lot of shoulder and neck pain. He even went through asking me what kind of pillow I was using.Once I got into maintenance mode, I stop by whenever my schedule allows and he adjusts me. My body just feels amazing after. My neck and back are adjusted and you can feel the tension release when you hear the crack. His care is amazing but his staff is just as amazing! Corinne is the nicest person you will ever meet. She's super accommodating to try to find an appointment that meets your schedule whether you call or email.Again, if you are looking for one of the best Bay Area chiropractors, you don't need to look any further! Super new office and location with plenty of street parking.“

“Dr. Akizuki was highly recommended to us by a dear old family friend who is an amazing orthopedic surgeon at Cedars Sinai in LA. He literally said "if I had to have that type of surgery [knee surgery], there's no one else that I would trust besides Dr. Akizuki..." This spoke volumes to us as we know our friend has numerous friends and colleagues (that are also drs) that he thinks very highly of. Dr Akizuki operated on both knees of our 15 year old son who had pretty serious knee surgery at 10 years old while playing soccer and had been doing Brazilian jiu jitsu since he was 3. He previously suffered from cracked cartilage, torn ACL and a torn meniscus at 10 years old when he had the 1st knee surgery with another dr. So when our son expressed that he had been experiencing pain for more than 1 year (since he started his freshman year of high school) and conveyed that even walking caused great discomfort, Dr. Akizuki worked very well with our son, was highly knowledgeable, very encouraging, kind, humorous, efficient, and just an all around awesome doctor. It has been 4 months since Dr. Akizuki operated on both of our son's knees and we can't even begin to express just how thankful we are to Dr. Akizuki for giving our son his quality of life back. Bright, active, without constant prolific pain, our son is doing really well! Dr. Akizuki has been such a blessing to us! Thank you to Dr. Akizuki and the staff!!!“

Natasha Barnes Sports Medicine & Rehab Sports Medicine

“Like most climbers (and athletes), I let an injury go for way too long because I thought rehab would mean stopping and I kept hoping a little rest or slow down would fix things. It didn't. Dr. Barnes helped me understand why my tendon issues weren't going away and how to work through them. I didn't have to stop climbing and in weeks I improved and in less than two months I was significantly better off than before the injury. Since then I'm better at preventative strengthening and whenever I do hurt something I don't wait to address it, I just make an appointment with Dr. Barnes and get a plan in place.“

“I can't say enough wonderful things about Ryan. My husband and I tried to get pregnant for over a year with no luck. Test results came back normal. We were waiting to see a fertility specialist when I gave this a shot. A month later I got pregnant. Sadly, that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, however, we conceived again immediately. We now have a beautiful and healthy almost 3 year old and a 4 month old. I don't know what acupuncture had to do with it...or if it had anything to do with it...or it was a mere coincidence. I will say...the entire experience with Ryan was wonderful. I had fried acupuncture in the past, however, I was just not convinced. A year before finding Ryan, I had tried another place. Not only did they charge 2-3x the amount Ryan did, the acupuncturist was not helpful, warm, or inviting. I felt dismissed and she couldn't answer many of my questions. I also tried another community acupuncture place, however, it was light and bright, too many people around, dead silent and I found it hard to relax. Ryan's place makes you feel like you are getting private treatment without the hefty price tag. He listened and was welcoming. He was able to answer all questions. And I always felt so relaxed after I left, I felt a difference every time. Maybe letting go of the stress allowed me to get pregnant? Who knows. I am grateful I found Ryan.“

Myofascial Release Center of Marin Sports Medicine

“As a former athlete, I have experienced Massage, Rolfing, Chiropractic, Yoga and Myofascial work. These are different types of body care that cover different parts of the body. Thor specializes in the Myofascial system that is quite different than a muscle massage or deep stretching of tendons via Rolfing. Thor is exceptional and uses his trained techniques to allow the body to release tension and gain movement. His hands are strong & gentle, he follows the tension and holds until it releases. I always leave his office relaxed, calm and loose. He really cares about one's health and positive results. His service is great for athletes looking to extend their playing days or helping one through a recent surgery by gaining range of motion.“

UCSF Pediatric Orthopedic Clinic Sports Medicine

“Dr. Mohammad Diab is a miracle worker. We were expedited to see Dr. Diab from our son's pediatrician Dr. Pepitone when labs showed inflammation from his lumbar spine fracture. Dr. Diab took one look at my son, asked him some questions, and he ordered an MRI with contrast, a biopsy procedure, and more extensive lab work. He didn't want to operate on our son if antibiotics with IV could cure the problem first, followed by oral antibiotics. What a great doctor, he doesn't opt for surgery! Dr. Diab and his stellar team (Dr. Andrew Figoni, awesome assistant Eric and RN Dede Cerruti responding to my emails) went to work to save a 15-year-old's life, which was diagnosed as Osteomyelitis. We were all baffled by what crippled our son and caused him excruciating pain, especially with a healthy teenager. The delay with another orthopedic specialist (by sending him home) didn't help with his agonizing pain since Labor Day. Our son was admitted to PICU after the labs tested positive for bacteria leading to a serious infection from the "bone fracture". Needless to say, my world turned upside down as a mom. Thank God for Dr. Diab at UCSF, whom patients come to see from all over the world! Dr. Diab is an orthopedic surgeon and Chief of Pediatric Orthopedics at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Stanford University; he completed a residency in general orthopedic surgery at the University of Washington and a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Harvard University. He came to UCSF in 2002. Our son is on a long road to recovery, but no more intense pain ~ AMEN! He can feel normal again and return to school. We have so much to be thankful for this holiday season thanks to UCSF and remarkable doctors like Dr. Diab! You bet I signed all the paperwork needed to research my son's samples from the biopsy to help save more teens who may walk in with the same symptoms. 'Til next time ~ stay healthy & blessed, see you on Yelp (SYOY)!“

“I’ve been to a ton of Chiropractors (4 in Marin alone) and Dr Britton is by far the best. If you have an issue with your body that you want to resolve - go to her. If you just want to get cracked because you like the way it feels, go somewhere else. She is not happy cracky.I’ve had chronic issues with my back for a very long time and she took the time to really diagnose and then treat the source of the issue, not just the location of pain. She cares deeply about you getting better and she is a master of Active Release Technique which is soft tissue work and it really does work.Additionally, every appointment starts right on time, you have her full attention for the full duration and then she will share stretches and exercises on how you can accelerate with home care. It’s exactly what I wanted and after a few weeks of treatment I feel great and she told me I don’t have to come back unless I have another issue!Couldn’t recommend her more. I’ve sent my whole family and all my friends to her and they love her.“

“Dr. Zach Brantner is a miracle worker! I went to him after two months of unsuccessful physical therapy while training for a marathon. He took care and clearly articulated what was going on with my hamstrings while explaining the complexities of associated pain in other places and the role my mechanics were playing in my persistent injury. He got me to a place where I was able to continue training through the most challenging mileage buildup while keeping me healthy and feeling fresh every time I left the office. Dr. Zach made it so that I could reach my goal of finishing the marathon and with little to no pain after 3 months of painful runs. He is truly one of a kind personally and professionally. I cannot say enough great things about him and his unparalleled practice!“

“I used to see Dr. Gregory regularly in San Carlos after a car accident, but I moved to San Francisco, and only saw her for chiropractic "emergencies" since it was definitely a schlep (that she is well worth). I am so incredibly glad she opened up an office in ActivSpace in the Mission in San Francisco! You can't beat the care. She is also inexpensive compared to other chiropractors in SF.

Dr. Gregory always figures out what the underlying issues is and is usually able to fix it. She is like House (Like Hugh Laurie, except doesn't always misdiagnose everything as Lupus). While it says she's a sports and extremities chiropractor, she really is amazing at diagnosing underlying issues. For example, my rheumatologist and endocrinologist were stumped for 9 months, she helped identify my issue as primary hypoparathyroidism. Most recently, she fixed my carpal tunnel syndrome and saved me from unnecessary surgery. Turns out, my second rib was out from a 30-year-old injury.

Although she doesn't take my insurance, she is so worth paying out of pocket (i could submit the superbills she provides, but my insurance is terrible, so I don't bother, as she really is affordable).

I couldn't recommend Dr. Gregory any higher.“

And best of all, he did NOT believe I needed a knee replacement at this time, as another provider had suggested… i will try an alternative treatment, which could give me a surgery free few years. I am SO happy with the expert care of Dr Callandar.“
