Dr. Baba told my mom I "wanted glasses," and didn't need them when I was 10. I told my mom I couldn't see the chalkboard in class. Why the heck would I "want" glasses. I went from age 10-18 without glasses because my mom believed him. Can you imagine going through your childhood feeling like everyone thought you were making something like that up? I finally got my own exam at 18 and it was instant. I cried when I could read the street signs. I'm in my 40's now and have used glasses and contacts daily. My own optometrist said, "oh wow, you're basically blind without them," in one exam. I have always thought of this because it had such an impact on my learning and childhood.
