After picking out a cheap pair of glasses myself from Costco that made me look 15 years older, I finally decided to drive 1 hour back into my favorite business to relive the time in my life that I had the perfect glasses for my face (and tricky prescription). As far as I'm concerned, Eva is the 'glasses whisperer' picking out glasses that I adore and that I reach for instead of my contacts. The team at AOE is technically excellent crafting them to perfection. Are they more expensive? - yes - but for something I wear all day every day it makes sense to invest my money in something beautiful, comfortable and that I love that I'll reach for every morning.

Great place to find beautiful eyewear and knowledgeable employees. Everything we’ve bought from Accent on Eyewear we’ve loved and have gotten many compliments on.They may be on the pricey side, but you are getting what you pay for ~ quality ~They are recommended by us :)

Accent on Eyewear is a fabulous local gem in the heart of downtown Menlo Park. Mary our Optician was very knowledgeable optically, as well with styling and fit. She also had great suggestions for frames (always important), as they know their stock best, and was very friendly and welcoming to me and my friend who is looking for new glasses. They carry a wide selection of the best high end frames in the industry, listed on their website... and they have been in business more than 30+ years!!! I was wearing my new l.a.Eyeworks, and the Owner of the store who had seen me, immediately recognized that they are a revival of the beautiful BONDO made in the early '90s which they sold! Loved that, a great recollection and history! I've been an Optician myself for 20+ years, so of course I appreciated that and can tell when a shop knows what they are doing... They also have a finishing lab on site (not like a LensCrafters situation, a real finishing lab!), which is VERY important when working with beautiful and often challenging to make lenses!... There is always more technical skill which is absolutely crucial when it comes to many brands, for ALL really, but certain frames, many labs don't even have the proper equipment, experience or accuracy and precision... so sadly going to less seasoned Opticians, you probably will end up with less than perfect lenses both aesthetically and optically! As an Optician who learned from the BEST, I could see their attention to detail to ALL the many facets of being fitted for glasses, were of great importance, and those are the traits of great Opticians!!! It's kind of a rare art these days... If you haven't been here and are looking for a unique pair of frames, and experienced Opticians, visit this store. Thank you!!!
