This place is so amazing. My dad is currently a patient here and he looks HEALTHY and HAPPY. Almost like he is in a resort. He made friends fast. He definitely didn't look happy and healthy at Memorial Hospital in Modesto or the VA hospital in Mathers. Both these hospitals didn't do anything for him. They just sent him home and did not fix his issues. Here at the VA hospital in Martinez , they care about their patients. This includes the nursing staff down to the housekeepers. They have a pool table, dining area for the patients and visitors. Plus we watched the football game while having lunch with my dad. Everyone here is amazing. Puts a big smile on my face and heart to see my dad happy.

The owner AJ was fantastic as my daughter’s dance teacher years ago but recently, we hired him for DJ service and all I can say is wow! There are all kinds of DJs who can play music but then there’s AJ. Not only does he have a crazy nightclub quality setup with towers and lights, but as a dance instructor he takes control of the crowd. He MC’d our adult party, he got folks moving. I simply can’t re-imagine my birthday party with anyone else except him. Really amazing and special memory.

Very cute nail salon, where they offer a new kind of gel application. I am really happy with my manicure. After having acrylics for a long time, removing them can be scary. This new nail builder gel is a great alternative to the norm and promotes your natural nails to grow stronger too.
Specialties: Nail builder gel is offered here, a better alternative to the dip or traditional acrylics. Filling is possible for maintenance unlike the dip method.

I've been going to this salon for a few years and haven't gotten around to leaving a review but I've been so obsessed with how this manicure turned out that I'm finally writing one. Everyone who works here is super friendly! I've never had a bad manicure or pedicure, and I always leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. I've had a number of nail technicians and they all do a wonderful job. My dip manicures usually last 3+ weeks (they grow out before they chip!) so you get a good bang for your buck. Highly recommend.
I just started seeing Annie for brow waxing. Up until now I had been doing my own waxing and tweezing. But after recent hand surgery, I had to find someone to do my brows. After reading her great reviews I decided to give her service a try and I’m so happy I did. My hand is getting better but I’m definitely going to keep getting my brows cleaned up with Annie!

Had to find last minute color and cut. Called several places but were only by appointment or were closed. "The Perfect Cuts" very pleasant, personable, welcoming & professional although very busy with many customers waiting and watched as so many more came and they knew the names of most of them coming and going. WOW! Chichi was great! She helped match my current color and I love it as well as showing me before cutting away a simple cut for my thin and fine hair which is now easier to manage! I would definitely recommend these wonderful ladies!
I've been going to Ruby's Nails consistently for manipicures and pedicures over the last everal months. They turn out beautiful and stay nice looking for a long time. I noticed a difference after my first manicure here, so I keep coming back! I always had a crack in one of my nails and Ruby knew what to do to resolve it. It's no longer an issue!
The entire team is friendly and all do exceptionally well with my nails. The tools are clean, there are lots of colors to choose from and I like the relaxing music and warm lotion they use after my mani/pedi.
Tip: in the winter time, they do free wax parafin treatment as part of any pedicure. It's such a treat! I highly recommend Ruby's.

Thank review is only for MARY and thank goodness for her! Mary worked miracles on my thinning hair, styling it into a contemporary look as opposed to my typical ponytail. Her prices are extremely competitive, especially compared to the local salons, and the cut was frankly the best I'd had in several years. This Yelp page shows several terrible reviews but doesn't name the stylists. If you book with Mary you'll be in good hands.

I originally booked the PlasmaClear facial but once | consulted with Marisela, she quickly gave me an alternative option because she wanted to be extra cautious cause of my pregnancy. She didn't want the machine she uses to impact me in any harmful way. (How professional and thoughtful!) We decided to do a deep facial and it felt so great and relaxing. Very clean materials and space. She made me feel comfortable and was so kind. I'm glad I found her because l'm definitely going to book again!
I’ve been getting my lashes down for at least 7 years, 4 different lash techs and Sophia is by far the best. I have thin lashes and with Sophia my volume sets, light or full, look phenomenal and last weeks. She’s incredibly patient, has gentle hands, and has a soothing and comfortable atmosphere.

I've gotten two pieces from Anna here, she's the owner and tattooer. I must say the quality of her work is superb! She specializes in American traditional style which is the best style in my opinion. She's highly responsive and very accommodating. The shop itself is pristine, and it has a nice little chill vibe. It's located in downtown Martinez, street parking is free on the weekends. Best tattoo I ever got. If you want quality work done you need to go to Tattoo 925. Kevin was my artist. This is my second piece with him. I am always hesitant to get new work done without a trusted artist, so when I moved back to California a few years ago I didn't get any work done for a while. But I made a friend at the gym that had incredible work done. The style was great and some of the work was several years old and still looked amazing. I asked for his artist and he introduced me to Kevin. I'm not artistic at all so I heavily rely on the artist to help take an idea and make it incredible. The final product exceeded anything I could've imagined.It's also worth noting that the other staff that I met there were friendly and seemed to be in pretty high demand, which has to be a good sign for the shop.The shop was also very clean and the staff take incredible care to make sure the work they do is safe and sanitary for us.Service: Tattoos

I had two sewer companies came out and I was charged $250 from each company for using the camera to locate the breakage. I needed three estimates so Advance Trenchless was the third company I called. Nick came the next day with camera and did the estimate without charge. Wow, that was good. I finally hired Advanced Trenchless to replace the broken sewer. Nick explained the process clearly and it took only one day. I liked the 20 years warranty and the job would be inspected by contra costa county.
I am truly happy and thank you Nick and a four man crew from Advanced Trenchless. I highly recommend this advanced Trenchless company.

We needed to have our new spa hooked up to the electric so we called Cal Com Electric. Juan was very prompt, communicated well, had to do some extra work because of past spa install done poorly. He worked hard, he made sure everything was explained in advance, came in right on price and was very reasonable. He has done work for us in the past and we love working with him and have had excellent results. We will use him every time we have electrical needs!

We had a small job installing new lighting in our kitchen, altering a skylight, and putting in a new skylight. We are very happy with the work Boydstun Construction did. They were very organized and got the job done is a timely manner. They had a detailed plan for what would be done each day and they kept to it. The staff was very polite and friendly. We much appreciated the owner Jon meeting with us three times to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. If we had another job to be done we would use them and we would highly recommend them to others.
TLDR; If you're looking to electrify and/or increase your home's overall energy efficiency, hire BPP - you won't regret it. How it started: We bought our 1951 home in the summer of 2020. As the weather cooled, we realized we'd bought a cold and drafty house. You could turn the thermostat up as much as you wanted, but it didn't make a difference. When the furnace quit on us in early 2022, we decided to just ride it out wrapped in blankets while we conducted a thorough search for the best contractor to help electrify our home. We started with an energy audit from the excellent Energineers, who informed us that the walls of our home had "no insulation." We now had a clear plan of action from a company that had no stake in what we decided to do, including blowing in insulation, installing a heat-pump powered HVAC system, asbestos remediation, and electrifying our ancient, gas-powered water heater. BPP was on a list of contractors recommended by Energineers, and we are so glad we went with them. Energy efficiency is science, and we are not scientists:As new, first-time homeowners we came into this project with no understanding of the basics of HVAC and insulation, let alone more advanced topics like heat pump technology. The owner, Curtis, was beyond patient with our many questions, meticulously explaining our options. While we went with a state-of-the-art heat pump system, he never pushed us to spend more on a higher-end solution, and in fact encouraged us to consider more budget-friendly options as well. When you're electrifying your home by switching to a heat-pump powered HVAC system and/or water heater, it pays to have someone who understands electricity leading your project. Curtis was able to design a comprehensive upgrade to our electrical system that would support our new equipment. His background in electrical gave us confidence that his solution would work and was right-sized for the project. We received multiple opinions about the best way to heat our home, which had multiple challenges including being built into a hill, a partially underground lower level with concrete walls and a slab floor, and a pre-existing extension on the back of the house with questionable ductwork. Curtis recommended installing a single exterior condenser, a ducted mini-split to heat the upstairs (replacing the asbestos-wrapped ducts with new, modern, energy efficient ductwork), and two mini-split heads on our lower level. I was honestly skeptical that our entire downstairs area could be uniformly heated with two mini-split heads, but the system he designed, in addition to being priced very fairly, works like a charm. How it's going: A company can be great to work with, but when you have someone working on your home, what matters most of all, of course, is results. And BPP delivered results, far above our expectations. Energineers had promised us that if we followed their recommendations, our cold, drafty house could become warm and cozy. Deep down, we didn't really believe them. But it was true! The insulation work alone increased the temperature inside our house by nearly 10 degrees. We love having the 3 different heating zones enabled by Curtis' system, so we don't need to heat areas of the house we aren't using. And our entire house is now as warm as we want it to be. As a bonus, the heat pumps include A/C for the occasional heat wave. Rebates, Permits, PG&E, oh my:Projects like this can mean a lot of paperwork. Curtis and the office manager Kathy made the entire process painless. They took care of everything for us, helping us to get the maximum possible rebates, which cut the cost of our project by about 25%. In addition, they handled the permitting process with the City of El Cerrito, and also navigated the application and approval process with PG&E for the electrical panel upgrade. We recently had smith and son come out to our home in Brentwood and replace our siding throughout the entire house and it came out amazing! The crew was very professional clean and organized. David Sr. and David Jr. tend to every nook and cranny a rodent might find their way in through. We (All Good Plumbing) replaced a water heater in the crawl space of a house that Integrity Rodent Solutions had recently completed rodent proofing. I have never seen a crawlspace sealed so well. In a business where every little crack means a world of difference and integrity truly matters, these guys live up to the name.

Hamilton Tree Service is awesome! I called to see about having a large Sycamore tree removed from my front yard. The gentleman reached out to me right away to schedule an appointment to see the tree and give me an estimate. He explained what it would entail and cost. I then received an email with the same estimate amount and other Information relevant to what they were going to do. After I approved it, an appointment was scheduled for them to cut the tree. On the day the tree came down, Hamilton Tree Service showed up when they said they would, set up, cut my tree down, ground the stump, cleaned everything up and we're done and on their way within a hour and a half; all I had to do to prepare was mark where my sprinklers were and they put cones over them to protect them while they were working. I am so happy with the work they did, my yard looks great!

East Bay Stump Removal answered my message within 24 hours, came to my home, and presented a fair estimate. Though I wanted my Stump removed asap, Matt explained why waiting to have gas and water pipes marked was best for safety. He did a great job removing my Stump. I appreciated the clear communication with myself and my neighbors during the process. I would highly recommend this business.
C&W removed three huge Lombardy Poplars from our back yard. The trees were a hazard to property and person, far too close to structures. C&W is a family owned business and they work alongside several long term employees. We received 4 bids for the job, and C&W issued their very favorable bid right on the spot. They showed up with a crew the following week at 8am, and it was fascinating to watch them work together, totally professional and coordinated, with all the right equipment and skills. Two tree climbers got right to it along with the ground crew, and by 3 pm the job was mostly done. They returned the following day for two hours to cut up remaining big chunks and to clean up. Highly recommended.
We just used Traverso Tree for the first time, we had a fallen Acacia, and much overgrowth and some safety concerns with many of the trees on our property, we requested haul away services too, it was a two day job, but they were so quick and professional, they even swept and blew away the excess saw dust. They did a great job, and I would absolutely use them again and recommend their services. I wish I had more before and after photos but I'll post what I can. The trees that they thinned looked so natural, they were careful to not drop any trimmings onto the neighbors yards, even when they had to move our neighbors planter to get the crane in the driveway, they remembered to move everything back where it was. That level of consideration and care is so rarely found. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

I’ve been taking my daughter to this orthodontist since September. She is always nervous before the visit but after she has better spirits. Muir Oaks has been the best vet we have gone to. This is saying a lot because we have moved often and gone to at least 7 different vets in the last 6 years. They are great fantastic for veterinary care and they are amazing for boarding. My dog was extremely aggressive to most people and dogs, but here she was able to connect with the staff and feel more comfortable. They also comforted us when we unfortunately had to put her down. They gave us the kindness we needed and treated us like we really lost a family member, which we did. If I still lived in the area, I would be a lifelong client.
Love the staff and the new facility is nice and spacious. The Family of Vet’s take very good care of our English Crème Retriever and set up wellness checks way in advance.
