About WundaBar Pilates - Los Feliz

WundaBar Pilates Los Feliz is a boutique Pilates studio that offers heart-pumping workouts for both beginners and experienced Pilates students. The studio provides solo and private group sessions, led by knowledgeable instructors who excel at challenging sequencing and clear cueing. The intense workouts leave participants feeling confident, energized, and strong. One standout instructor is Bridgette, who is praised for her exceptional Pilates instruction. Her classes are intellectually and physically demanding, making her a favorite among many students. Participants appreciate her attention to form and the manageable yet challenging rep countdowns she provides during classes. The studio's workout style and progression are generally well-received, with most instructors offering creative and engaging sequences. However, the quality of instruction can vary between instructors, with some providing more basic workouts. It is recommended for new clients to take advantage of the one-week unlimited new client special to try different instructors and find their favorites. The space is small and generally clean, but the machines are close together, which some may find impactful on their workout experience. There is only one restroom, located at the front of the class, so it is recommended to use the restroom beforehand. Grip socks are required for participants, while instructors wear sneakers on the machines. WundaBar's pricing is debated, with some finding the cost of a 45-minute workout without additional amenities to be on the edge of justifying a luxury price in Los Angeles. The studio's largest package is 16 classes for $360 monthly, which averages to $22.50 per class. The studio could benefit from offering more enticing unlimited monthly class specials to encourage regular attendance. Overall, WundaBar Pilates Los Feliz provides a fun, challenging, and thoughtfully designed full-body workout. Participants leave feeling great and satisfied with their experience.

This review is long overdue, but I've been taking classes with Bridgette at Wundabar for almost 2 years now and I just can't bring myself to go anywhere else for Pilates because she's that good. From her intelligent and challenging sequencing, to flawless cueing, she is truly a master Pilates instructor, simply the best. I cannot recommend Bridgette and her studio enough, if you are in LA you need to experience this yourself!

I really enjoy the style and the progression of this workout. Some instructors are better than others---the first class I took, the instructor had us hold a plank for the first minute of class and I thought, "Well, I could do this at home." However, the majority of instructors have more inventive workouts and clear instructions. They'll make sure you're on the right foot and doing the intended workout. I'm a big fan of the jump board. If you're new, I'd recommend doing the one-week unlimited new client special (if they still have it), so you can take classes with different instructors and find your favorites. The space is small and generally clean. The machines are close together, but in my experience, it has never affected the quality of my workout. The one restroom is in the front of the class, so if you need more privacy, I'd recommend going beforehand. Don't forget your water bottle--I don't recall there being a water fountain, however, I think there is an option to pay for water. The instructors wear sneakers on the machines, but you must wear grip socks. I imagine it's because you're getting a better stability workout by only wearing the socks. I wish they offered an unlimited monthly class special where there was more of a discount and I could go regularly, but their biggest package is 16 classes for $360 as a monthly subscription, which is $22.50 per class. I had to remove myself from their mailing because they send stuff like, "You Waited All Year For This--Fire Emoji--4 Pack for $88." $22 per class for 4 classes is the deal I've been waiting all year for? I acknowledge that there's some criticisms in my review and I think they are mainly geared around the question, "Is a 45-minute workout without any frills (no water, no cold towels, etc.) worth it to command a luxury price in Los Angeles?" I think it's teetering on the edge for me, but overall, I think that the workout itself is fun, challenging, and thoughtfully built to truly feel like a satisfying, full body workout. I feel great every time I leave this place.

I cannot speak highly enough of Wundabar Los Feliz, specifically Bridgette's classes. I've been to most of the popular Pilates studio's in LA and this is my favorite one. Bridgette's instructions are clear and her rep countdown is challenging yet manageable. I really appreciate her attention to my form and I love knowing that i'm going to leave class feeling healthy and energized.
