I was only looking for a short-term (3-month) PO Box rental. We were having delivery issues at my place and, with the holidays approaching and my being out of town, decided to ensure a secure place for my mail/packages. Fast forward a year later. I still have my box! Here's why: 1) I love the fact you don't have to give folks your real address; 2) 24-hour access to obtain your mail; 3) one-stop shop for copies, faxes, mailings, package deliveries; and 4) their customer service is beyond great! They even called me when, on both occasions, when people sent me Cinnabons for my birthday! Love this place!

I don't even want to really get into it but I had "the most uncomfortable exchange" with the owner's daughter, Renu Ahluwalia. Renu is the Notary Public for both Mail Connexion LLC (which I experienced today) and Playa Postal Center. Their team doesn't have the best communication, and Renu has some of the worst service I've ever experienced. I was contacted by a representative of the company on the day prior and was informed that they had documents awaiting my signature that they had been commissioned to notarize. After they elaborated on the documents and shared who hired them I knew exactly what they were for and made my appointment to sign them. The caller informed me that the cost would be taken care of and I would just need to show up at my appointment and sign them. I got to my appointment three minutes late, however I called them 20minutes prior to my appointment to share that I may be late, the rep on the phone asked if I could give them a specific time for how late so I just gave myself a fifteen minute window - for 11:15am. When I got there at 11:03am their clerk told me I called and said I would be running fifteen minutes late so she told the Notary Public she could be fifteen minutes late... It seemed odd but I accepted that and said "okay" and just listened to my music until the Notary Public arrived. Renu arrived a little after 11:25am, she apologized for being late, and asked if we could get started. Once we got underway it was quickly revealed that Renu didn't know papers were waiting for her 11am appointment, nor did she have a clue to where they were placed. However, their clerk quickly extinguished that issue located the documents and directed Renu to them. Then while filling the forms out she shared the price I would need to pay, I informed her the same person that called about the documents shared with me that the price would be covered by whomever originally furnished them with the documents. Renu immediately called whomever it was I spoke to and put them on speaker phone and we quickly realized their was a misunderstanding. So I inquired if their notary fee was the average fee in CA, because the last time I went to get something notarized it was a lower fee. Renu told me that everyone charges that amount now and I said okay I would need to go to the ATM and come back. This is when things really started to bother me (mind you, nothing had been filled out yet): Renu told me Bank of America was right out the door I could go their, I told her Chase is on the other side of the plaza and that I would go there since I bank there. At that moment Renu started to get an attitude and told me she has nothing to do with the documents I was there to sign, she's just a notary public and she needs to leave at noon. I told her I understood that and just wanted to go to the ATM so I could pay for the fee, Renu then doubled down and begin to explain to me what a Notary Republic is and how they are meant to be a integrity filled bipartisan person for the state, I reiterated that I understand and would still need to go to the ATM. Renu then exalted "well then how long are you going to be because I have to leave at twelve?!" I said, "ma'am, no matter what I still have to go to the ATM, which is in the same parking lot as we are right now, so it shouldn't take long, I can't tell how long it will take, but I will go get my money so I can come back and complete this transaction". She deeply exhaled and then I said "now we have less time than when I first said I needed to run to the ATM..." It was 11:33pm when I looked at my phone. When I came back with my cash I waited patiently for her to finish with her current client, once she was free I approached the counter and said "before we get started I just want to say that earlier that was the most uncomfortable exchange I've ever had, and I don't think it needed to happen". Renu replied by saying "that was uncomfortable for me too". We quietly completed

I've been with Mail Connexion since before the current owner (Joe) took over, about 28 years. Always had a good experience with them, nothing "lost" or mis-placed and they're fair with their prices. Seen many employees go through, a couple of them actually passed away, which was sad, but that's life. Joe is usually very business like, but can joke around with you if you get to know him. Like anyone, if you come at him sideways about something, he'll get defensive, as we all do; if you speak with him calmly and respectfully, he'll treat you in kind. They have other services besides just a secure box rental, and have always been friendly and kind with me.
