The male masseuse arrived late. The only person around was a janitor. I quickly looked for a hotel phone. Within minutes the masseuse arrived. He meandered around to set up. The masseuse Sam then proceeded to give me one of my all time favorite deep tissue sports massage. As an older woman I occasionally feel a little awkward with a male masseuse. However, Sam was totally polite and eased some tension due to a tragic loss our family experienced. My trip was business however, I definitely want to return for fun.
Rough start but massage saves the day. ... I made an appointment to what I thought was a hotel spa with nice amenities and facilities but it ended up that the spa is just two treatment rooms right next to the gym/pool. I made the reservations on line for 4:30pm for a 90 minutes massage. I got a confirmation immediately so I thought that it was a pretty easy system until I get a second email confirming my massage reservation at 4:15pm which was not the time I selected. I had to call over the phone and explained that my reservation was supposed to be at 4:30pm but was told that they moved the time to accommodate another appointment after me. I told the scheduler that I cannot make 4:15pm because I am coming from another appointment and they cannot just move my time without asking me. Then, she said that she will call the therapist and call me back but then she never did so I rush to get the spa only to sit there with no one to welcome me. I called again and she said that she forgot to call me back because she got busy. What?! I was very annoyed and made for an awkward encounter with my therapist who tried her best to make the situation work. I still giving a 4 star review because the massage was really good. Thanks Kalyn for making the entire experience pleasant after the scheduling nightmare. In addition, the staff at the Omni was very accommodating especially the valet guy and the front desk staff who gave me access to spa area. Parking was an additional $20 + tip to just go the spa and there is really no other option.
