The workers were not welcoming at all!! Lady didn't cut my daughters hair the right way She left uneven layers,cut more than what I had asked and literally took maybe like 5/10 minutes on each hair cut !! Never going there again

I've been coming here with my mom ever since I was a child, and ever since Lupe is the only hairdresser my sister and I know. She is honestly great, she doesn't overprice the services, always very humble and kind, and just great at what she does. I wouldn't give her five stars because recently I feel like she has been lacking. I went in about eight months ago and requested for a simple trim and she ended up cutting about 4 inches total which was about 2 inches too much for me. I feel if I would have communicated a lot more specifically what I wanted there would not have been any misunderstanding, then again she is a very long time friend so her getting distracted may have also been part of the issue as we were talking and catching up. Overall I've always had great experiences and she always double confirms exactly how one wants their hair. I'm too scared to try other hair salons so I think I'll keep sticking to Lupe, it's very hard to find a great location with reasonable prices. Last reason I only gave her 4 stars is because unfortunately she only takes cash, which can be an inconvenience since there is no ATM inside.

I've been going to Lupe ever since I was a child. She's cut my hair FOREVER. My mom also comes here. The salon is dated but very clean. It is located in the Byzantine Latino Quarter of LA and the clientele is mainly from the surrounding areas (humble, hardworking people). I get my ends trimmed and layers and she styles it for me... for $8-12! I have a friend who is used to going to the fancy places paying over $150 for cut and style and she has now made the move to Lupe. No need to over pay for something so simple. I've never done color or any other service here (nails, eye brows etc), just hair cut. Lupe also has two other ladies who work for her but I stick to what I know :) I have naturally wavy hair and she knows how to work with it.
