I left LA for NY more than 15 years ago, but I never stopped missing this place. There's something that sometimes you cannot put into words--about a place you love without many reasons. And then you forget what it was. While back in town for a few days, I needed beard trimming badly, and right before giving up on this task after a few attempts to walk into some fancy places, I walked into Jess's without an appointment to find this guy that looks like the real-life reference to the Big Lebowski "The Dude." Steve greeted me with a big smile. Warmth, welcoming, the one you give an old buddy, but in my case for a completely new face. He told me he had another client showing up anytime for an appointment but asked me what I need it - Just a beard trim. As the other client was running late, he said, "what the hell, sit down, it's meant to be." Then, without any rush, he proceeds to carefully and methodically trim my beard as if it was the most important thing he was doing the whole day. Long story short, during these 15 minutes I spend with Steve, all the reasons I couldn't remember about my love for this town just came back as if they have ever left. This beard trim was more than that. It was about people connecting with people in the most authentic and essential, and much-needed way. The Dude abides. You made my day.

Never Fails...always does an awesome job!! We have been going here for a while and will continue to be a loyal customer. The barber was the one who cut my hair and did a fantastic job!

This is my barbershop for 41 years I think that says it all Steve is the greatest love this guy great barber and barbershop I always get good compliments on my hair cut thanks a million
