“I am obsessed with Gigi and this salon. There are not many salons that have the combination of Balayage by Gigi: skill, cleanliness, and kindness. All the staff here are SO kind and wonderful. Through my many years here they have always remained that way, making it a comfortable place to come and feel at ease that I am being heard and taken care of. Gigi herself is the Balayage queen!!! Her hands are actual magic, taking my hair to a snow blonde that truly no other stylist could do. As a girly that is not great at hair up keep, she styles my hair so even grown out it looks incredible. She knows just what will suite you and is kind and patient when discussing the treatment plan. I have never been so understood and had such great results at a salon. I cannot recommend this salon enough, I would give it 10 stars if I could. “Steven is by far the most reliable and talented hair stylist I’ve ever been to. I’ve always had issues with barbers as they typically are really good at using clippers but not so good at using scissors. On the other hand, many hair stylists I’ve been to are good at using scissors but not so good at using clippers and blending it all together. Steven does it all and really understands what you want. He’s a great person to talk to and I look forward to getting my haircut with him every time.“

“George is one of the best barbers ever. I discovered him when I came across his work on Instagram. Being a queer man I am always hesitant to shop for a new barber, since many barber shops can be heavy with toxic masculinity, but I was in need as I had just lost my old barber. I was pleasantly surprised when I took the dive. George was immediately warm and welcoming. I could talk about queer issues and queer topics with him without problem. His location is in the heart of DTLA, just across from the public library. Check him out for sure.“

“Ilona has been my stylist for around 15 years now, first in the Bay Area and then after she moved to LA - with me flying her up to the Bay Area. Because Ilona is worth it. She's deeply intuitive, which is critical for a stylist because many of them don't listen. Ilona does, but not only does she listen she can translate what you want into the cut you end up with and this is a skill many stylists lack. This is one of the reasons I fly her to the Bay Area monthly, because when you find a stylist like her, you don't give them up. Ilona has traveled with me to music festivals overseas and cut hair on the edge of the Sahara and she's always turned out a superior product. As a diplomat I frequently have to engage in public speaking and she makes sure my hair always looks its best.“

“I hired Amy as my wedding artist, and it was one of the best decisions I've made for my wedding. Amy is great! She is easy to talk to and accommodated our different makeup requests for the bride, two moms, and bridesmaids.

Our ceremony was at noon, so the bridal makeup started at 6 a.m. Amy was very punctual and arrived at the venue at 5:50 a.m. to get everything set up.

Her technique in makeup and hairstyling is exceptional. I've used different artists for wedding photo shoot sessions, and Amy's style is by far my favorite. I loved how I looked on my wedding day.

“This review is long overdue. Rocco's is a life/hair saver! Backstory-My teenage son who had medium short hair wanted to try a shorter haircut, think Keanu Reeves 90s hair to Milo Ventimiglia mid short hair. We went to a franchise salon and showed the "stylist" what he wanted and said no clippers. Welp, he came out with short uneven hair and she even used clippers on the sides ‍. My son was tear filled and devastated. What else does a mother do but search neighborhood Facebook groups for recommendations. ROCCO kept coming up so I gave them a call and booked an appointment. I really didn't see how my son's hair could be fixed and my son didn't see how it could be any shorter without buzzing it. Our Experience at Rocco's - Anthony listened to our concerns and examined my son's hair. He spoke to my son about his plan and talked him through every step of the way, always waiting for my son ok. He truly helped ease my teen's anxiety. He was truly magic with his skills. My son looked in the mirror and his smile returned. Anthony fixed his hair and restored his confidence.
