    In 1926 a haunting was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, strange voices coming from the cemetey. As it turns out a speak easy was being operated at the park serving alcohol during proibition. The cemetery is much quiter on this rainny day.

    My review is specifically for the crematorium next door, which I couldn't find here on Yelp. This was a quiet and pleasant experience picking up my brother's cremains from Mr. Garnett. He's a gentle and kind individual, and his calm manner made me feel I was in the presence of an unsung hero. The grounds in this area are quaint and untouched by modernity. The tiny chapel was where we conducted our business, signed a log book for the pick up, and discussed some interesting details about the cemetery and the crematorium.     I don't know anyone here but it's a peaceful and beautiful place to walk and reflect in the spring time. After the recent deluge of rain, many headstones are precariously leaning but get, they're old and this happens. So be careful walking the grounds. That being said it was such a blanket of peace and quiet and tranquility plopped right inside Boyle Heights, it was almost like being in another place entirely.
