Cannot say anything positive about dealing with Elluma Discovery. Brian La Rock was tasked with "neutrality" in the work to be done. He was venal, double crossing, and basically foul. Really. In every way, he looked out for money for himself, and some 'gotcha' moniker for his efforts. He acted nice in person. The writing he delivered was atrocious. That may sound awful. Dealing with him, in hindsight, was worse than those words, not better. The publication sent to my attorney was prejudicial. It was riddled with false premises and false conclusions. Over the last year and a half my law firm and I worked with Elluma Discovery on a complex trade secret case. My client was trying to prove that an ex-employee stole proprietary information from the company and was using pricing information and client information to compete unfairly against the company. Elluma used computer forensic tools to analyze computers of ex-employees and recover information needed to prove information had been stolen from the company. Also, since we had 100,000 plus emails to review, an impossible number given the budget we had, they had the ability to sort emails using forensic tools and find the relevant emails necessary to prove our case. Very disappointed. Unusual focus on getting retainer, then charged very $390 hourly rates and accumulated unreasonable number of hours on simple task that exceeded ample retainer, then hounded my office for balance due on unreasonable bill. Definitely would not use again.
