Mike and his team did a superb job on a major, 8-month renovation of our home that included a family room addition (conversion of former back patio) and kitchen makeover (combining former kitchen with adjacent office). Our house is a 1919 home in a historic-preservation-overlay-zone, which required compliance with particular rules, so this was not an ordinary project.Mike has a highly experienced team of professionals - starting with Alex, their architect, who took the time to study the HPOZ rules of our neighborhood and manifested my vision into a plan that our HPOZ liasion quickly approved and complimented as being a very nice design for our house. Then Efren, the project leader, diligently led the guys in the trenches, enduring all kinds of circumstances to faithfully execute the plan. Fernando was also incredibly helpful for all of my electrical needs, responding to my questions even on holidays. I am most impressed with the responsiveness of this team to my concerns and requests throughout the project. We had heard many stories about nightmare renovation jobs that take over a year to complete, and were also given plenty of cautionary tales advising us to expect problems. But Mike kept to his word and drove the project to completion so that we were able to move back home over the holidays of 2022 (with start in late April). This was only 2 months past his estimate timeline of 6 months to completion, and the delay was mostly caused by unforeseen circumstances (such as supplies, structural discoveries, and even some interference by third parties) that were out of our control. As for the issues that came up, there were some additional costs that his team and I both had to absorb. They were however always addressed promptly and professionally. I note that it was important to me to not sacrifice on experience for cost, to revamp my century-old house with the TLC it needs. I did not want to entrust such an important job to the lowest bid, but Mike's costs were also not unreasonable for what we ultimately got. I had also received a comparable quote from another contractor, but they were not nearly as responsive as Mike, and did not instill confidence that my project would've been treated with priority and urgency, as Mike did. I had a lot of anxiety about the age and special needs of my house, but Mike and his team had the deep experience and knowledge to allay my fears throughout the whole project, and communicated and collaborated closely with me to ensure that every step was completed to my liking. I definitely recommend Doobek for your large building or renovation projects. You will not regret the decision. [If I can find some good before/after photos, I will post them.]

Doobek was my contractor for a room addition and room expansion on my house. I already had the plans and Mike from Doobek helped me through permits and getting the construction going. Mike is a no BS guy from estimate to finished project which is refreshing in the construction Industry. Everything looks great and Mike and his team were very responsive and helpful with all the ups and downs of the project. Highly recommend this company for any construction needs you may have.

Doobek has been an exceptional contractor and partner for us throughout several weeks of construction. We had a wide variety of work that needed to be done to our house in West Adams: from framing in new doors and windows, to rebuilding the front of our garage, repairing electrical, and more. Mike and Efren and the rest of the team make themselves available at all times and are helpful and highly responsive when challenges arise. They stayed on top of a fast moving schedule and completed the job within the budget they committed to. Would highly recommend Doobek!
