NOT RECOMMENDED! James Yang (owner) is horrible to work with. His 18/19 yr old painters have no prep experience. So many rough areas on the walls that could be easily scrapped, patched and sanded, but they just painted over. I told them not to paint on any metal and plastics and it was completely disregarded. Ordered to paint my cabinets and the workers painted the metal hinges and the drawer wheels. The cabinets no longer rolled closed smoothly. Sending pics to the owner James was a nightmare. He was so defensive and he went back on our agreement to leave walls smooth where its visibly rough. I Showed him pictures of all mistakes and he justified by saying my property was too old, which was a well taken care of place. He was very rude to me and staff had an attitude when I pointed out errors. The owner didn't supervise the kids who worked. The workers seem to have a bad relationship with their own boss. My cabinets are ruined and clean up is not really possible. This guy has no pride in quality just wants payment.
Saturday, October 15, 2022I hired Best Choice Painting after a referral from a co-worker, BIG MISTAKE...I spoke to James Yang who gave me a bid to paint 9 interior doors (both sides) and 1 door (1 side only), for a total of 10 doors. The proper prep work was not done and the final result was not acceptable. Their first coat of paint looked thin and streaked and the final coat was not the quality of work that I'm used to. I had to take him to each door and point out where I see white (the original color) in various spots on both sides of the doors that we paid him to paint black. Hmm., he said he was done and cleaned up, but obviously, he needs to fix a lot. It was ridiculous,...read full review
I hired Best Choice Painting after a referral from a co-worker, BIG MISTAKE...I spoke to James Yang who gave me a bid to paint 9 interior doors (both sides) and 1 door (1 side only), for a total of 10 doors. It was ridiculous, and I insisted that he leave the rest of the paint for touch ups because I knew there would possibly be problems that I didn't catch. Also, when he arrived, he asked, "What doors are to be painted?" I walked him throughout my home and pointed out the doors to be painted and he painted my master bathroom pocket door that was not part of the bid and had the nerve to text me (I'm simply downstairs) the updated cost and told me it was a total of 11 doors and not 10. I've done many paint jobs around my house including painting a door and the quality of paint that I used gave much better coverage and I cleaned and prepared the door before painting. RUN the other way! I would never have them back in my home. I'm thankful that for my huge painting job and ceiling smoothing, I'm using a company that I know is good and I have a history with them. So much for going out on a limb by a friend's reference for what was supposed to be a simple job that I was going to do myself... Moral of the story, I should have Googled and checked Yelp because I would have cancelled the job had I read the reviews of the poor workmanship.
