Leo was the tech that came out. The work was way over priced. Estimated all kinds of things wrong that needed repair (racking issue, balancing, cable replacement, heavy duty springs, etc). All he did was change the springs and replace a cable in about an hour. Found a bolt on the ground and he said it must have fallen out of his tool box. Found after where the bolt wasn’t replaced from the repair afterward and wouldn’t come back to fix it. Won’t use again and do not recommend anyone else to use them.
Wow. I don't often write reviews, and I'm pretty sure I've Never given one star. But that is what happens when you try to cheat a repeat customer. Here's what happened today: after multiple attempts to connect with Alex, our previous technician, the company finally sent a technician named Nick this morning. I guess he assumed I have no idea how these motorized gate openers work. I knew a limit switch was probably bad and causing my issues. This part is $25-$30. He proceeded to tell me that the limit drive/switch assembly was bad, and that for some reason the entire unit needed to be replaced. He then told me the cost would be $4500, but that they would give me a discount. He also told me they wouldn't be able to fix it until Monday. It's Friday today and I live on a very busy street. If the gate is not functional it's a safety hazard. The reason he offered me a discount was because I had them replace the motherboard three months ago. A piece of trash got stuck in the chain and fried the board. Fine. This part is $400 brand new on Amazon. For parts and labor (labor took barely anytime) they charged me $1100. I brought it up to Alex detectors in and he laughed and said well we have to make money. I didn't argue because I understand that small businesses have to make money and up charge on parts. Basically what happened is that after reaching out to the company multiple days in a row they finally sent a technician out that lied to my face and said I needed an entirely new unit. I can only imagine they offered me a discount so that they could take the motherboard back and resell it as refurbished... Again.I wound up having the problem fixed the very same day by a different company. As a presumed the limit switch was bad. $30 part replaced with a reasonable up-charge and labor for a small fraction of what anchor garage door and gate tried to charge. Bad business. Steer clear.
