Restoration of quality old wood windows is the way to go & our home near the Beach is full of them. Thanks to finding Doug we now realize that restoration of the matching & attractive windows we have is far preferable to replacement. He specializes in older windows & he did a very professional job on 8 of ours. We expect them to last for a very long time & will be calling him back in the future as the other windows in our home are in need of repair.

Doug was very polite and professional and gave us a decent price on replacing two of our old wooden double hung windows that had to match an existing window. He also cleaned up the area nicely before he left. But the windows I was left with do not look like any new windows I've ever seen. There is thick globs of white gunk along the glass. I assumed he would cut it off, or clean it up, but no. So I got a utility knife and tried trimming it myself, and it is not easy! I asked him why it was like this, and if he would come and fix it, and got no response. I can't imagine this is normal? Anyway, it will require different tools and a lot of work for me to clean... read full review
