About Long Beach Animal Hospital

The Long Beach Animal Hospital has been providing compassionate veterinary care for many years. The hospital is open late and has a nurse on-site to care for sick pets at night. The hospital is well-regarded for its compassionate care during difficult times, such as end-of-life situations. While some patients have expressed concerns about the high cost of services and the experience of newer veterinarians, the hospital is still praised by many for its kind doctors, staff, and their ability to maintain the best attitudes even when busy. The hospital also has a wildlife program, and has been highly recommended by other veterinary clinics in the area. One customer shared their experience of bringing in a distressed slider turtle with a fishing hook stuck in its tongue, and the hospital provided excellent care, including x-rays, a procedure to remove the hook, and rehabilitation before releasing the turtle back to its habitat. Another customer praised Dr. Ridgeway and the team for their exceptional care of their 16-year-old Shih Tzu, Pumpkin, who had suffered a spinal injury and partial paralysis. The customer was initially told by an emergency vet that the only options were expensive surgery or euthanasia. However, at the Long Beach Animal Hospital, Dr. Ridgeway provided steroids and chiropractic treatment, and Pumpkin was walking again the same day, with continued improvement in the following week.

i feel like i know of a hidden treasure coming to this place and i almost don’t want to write this review lest anything changes when an influx of people flock! but, you need to know. this place is legitimately the best vet ever. not only are they open basically all day, but their prices are very reasonable, and more than that their staff—especially Chloe, a caretaker for boarding—is phenomenal. i have a deaf blind 75lb puppy w lots of energy and they figured out a way to safely entertain him while i leave him for dayboarding. he literally needs to be dragged out of the facility bc he wants to stay! i just love it here and want to give each and every staff person...read full review

The only animal hospital in all of LA that was able to tell us what was wrong with our cats. They had two parasites that other doctors missed. Phenomenal team and staff helped us ensure our pet is safe and healthy!

I had not used LBAH in a few years. I went there with my family pets that other vets would not care for like my chickens and lizards. This recent trip was for my dog and his normal vet had no available appointments so I went to LBAH who saw us right away. They were very helpful in both appointments and very professional. The wait time was decent and the office was clean and welcoming. The staff was great with both my dog and myself. I’m very happy I returned.
