We have been going to a locally owned tax service for years and years but ran out of time and could not get an appt with the other tax agency so we settled for Liberty. We had to school our tax guy on which deductions we were entitled to since we do the long form...like vehicle registration and our Union Dues, etc. The man who prepared our taxes didn't seem to know what he was doing. They also charged literally 2.5 times more than what we are used to paying. Also after my daughter accidentally destroyed our tax return, I called Liberty several times to request a copy. We got our business taxes done here this year. They were incredibly unprofessional and repeatedly failed to call us back when they told us they would. It took 4 weeks to get them to finally put everything together and we ended up filing on the very last day. While in their office finalizing the paperwork, their staff was rude, unhelpful and at one point one of them was swearing at someone on the phone. We have just received a notice from the IRS that although all the paperwork was finalized on time, Liberty tax did not submit our taxes on time and we are being charged a penalty of $400 for a late return. Sorry, but a discount of $80 for a first time introductory offer is not enough to bring us back next year. We'd rather go to Block for our 2015 taxes and pay more! When we first called to set up an appt., Dave told us HE would be there to do our taxes. Instead, another guy was there who seemed to be very inept, disconnected and unsure of what he was doing. We complained about it and Dave and his wife told us, "oh no. he's very experienced!". Every time we'd call, they would put us off saying their computers were down or that they were busy and they'd call us back. Most of the time, they didn't return phone calls.
