My granddaughter's new cheer uniform needed to be altered - all three pieces of it. It was Monday, and we needed it for a performance on Friday. I saw the good reviews on Yelp for this place so we went there. The woman who assisted us was extremely helpful and took her time as we explained what was important to us. She said she could have it ready by Thursday after 3 although she would have preferred more time. She had it ready and it turned out great. Really like her helpfulness. Will definitely try out the dry cleaning too.
Whether you call them Eco-Cleaners or Cleaner & Tailors; a rose by any other name will still smell as sweet. This neighborhood business has got my vote! I don't go to the dry cleaners as often as I used to when I worked in management for sharply pressed, medium starch, button down shirts, and slacks... Nowadays, I show up to work in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. You guessed it! I'm unemployed. I'm kidding!... I have my own eco-friendly, green business; I dig through dumpsters collecting bottles & cans. Still kidding... 'Or am I? Okay, back to the review & hand. As I was saying, I don't frequent the dry cleaners as often I used to but when I do, I always come here. It's not the closest one to me but it's the best one I've found and I've tried several in the area. I picked up some sailing gear earlier in the year for sailing over to Avalon Harbor on Catalina in case we encountered inclement weather on the three day trip. The jacket I ordered form Amazon was a little large but perfect since I was going to be layering my clothes. The pants however were too long. I recently used them for a San Diego sail last month and quickly remembered what I forgot to do; get the pants tailored. A week after we returned I made it a point to bring the pants down to be corrected for better fit. I walked in and was greeted, friendly, helpful, and professional as I remembered from the last time I was here. The lady behind the counter asked what I needed to have done. I put on the pants, she safety pinned her adjustments & I was out the door in fifteen minutes. It was a Thursday; the pants would be ready next Tuesday. I wasn't in any huge rush. I didn't have plans on sailing a multiple day trip anytime time soon. Work performed: 1. Hem shortened and velcro reattached. 2. Seat taken in (Clearly these pants were made for someone substantially taller then myself... 'Or with a much larger arse; I'm not complaining.) Total: $25 Photo | Hem w/velcro straps reattached - Photo | Seat - A friend thought that the $$ was a tad steep for what I had done. I replied, "Do you know how to do all that & didn't involve glue or duct tape? (Insert silence here) I can't sew but would love to learn to be able to do THIS exact thing. The hem stitching across the bottom was nice & straight, clean. One of the last places where I had the hem taken in, the new stitching was wavy and looked like someone was hitting the bottle. - "Don't drink & sew." It wasn't just a little crooked, it look like something from Trigonometry and calculating the sine of an angle. This is your business, sewing; how can you not sew a straight line around a hem? Yep, she was drunk. When I arrived home, I tried on the pants and it fit perfect. If you're looking for a dry cleaner, a place to launder your business wear, or even have something altered, I highly recommend trying Eco-Cleaners. Go ahead, give them a try! - Big Aloha! The staff here are so helpful and nice. I walked in needing two buttons to be sewn on a jumpsuit, on the spot, and they were happy to do it! Best of all, she did it in 5 minutes! I can't recommend this place enough for any alterations or dry cleaning!
