I received Dennis's number from our realtor in order to assess the condition of the roof of our new house. After speaking with him over the phone I had high hopes that he would be our number one choice. We have been meeting with several businesses gathering quotes and comparing services. Over the phone, he was very professional and kind, although he tended to go on tangents. He originally would not make it out until next week but he ended up calling to say he could meet with us a few days early between 9-10am. He showed up exactly @9am today and I wouldn't have even known unless I had looked out of the front windows and seen his work truck parked in our driveway (instead of the street) and a man carrying a ladder to climb onto our roof! I walk outside to greet him and then everything went downhill from there. He climbed onto the roof to assess it and refused to take a look in our attic for leaks. He claimed that he prefers to wait for the leaks to reach the actual ceiling causing stains so that he can accurately find them! He also reminded me, for the first of a dozen times, that he has 44 years of service in the business and insulted me multiple times during our conversation. As another reviewer on YELP previously stated he is ornery to say the least! Very unprofessional, condescending, arrogant and extremely crotchety!!!. He claimed that it was a big courtesy for him to even offer to come out to give a free estimate and not charge for gas and time and that any other company that can do that isn't a good company and doesn't have enough work. He also stated that it isn't reasonable to replace a roof unless it leaks, even though our roof is 25 years old and has 2-3 years left if he took a guess. Since we just had the interior painted among other cosmetic work, we are not interested in waiting for damage to occur and would rather adopt a preemptive approach. To this he stated "well would you not drive your car just because you may get a nail?" He also said I was foolish for thinking of getting our house roof replaced first and garage the following year because no business wants to come back out just to do a garage. He called our patio cover crap and recommended we tear it down and also asked if I knew of the years of experience for the other companies I spoke with and when I didn't recall the exact information, he replied "well that's a shame." Over the phone, he said that he has a partner who he has been in business with for, again, 44 years, that does full roof replacement because Dennis only patches. When I asked for the contact information, he gave me the business name and said to look the number up myself while he got into his work truck and started it up without even saying goodbye. I asked about his estimate for repairs and he claimed he only sends it via snail mail because he's old fashioned. It took a lot of restraint and discipline to not become combative with him and I had to ask several times, while he berated me, for the estimate and partner contact info. I even said "ok, I understand, you're right, I'm wrong" just to get the conversation to progress! He also said to not even bother reaching out to his contact unless I'm serious about getting my roof replaced and that I shouldn't waste their time "window shopping". When I finally walked away he had the nerve to say to his dog Jake that he brought along with him "well that was a waste of time!". I DO NOT recommend contacting Dennis for roofing repairs unless you have skin of steel and do not mind being insulted and questioned. I really did have high hopes for him but he is now not even in the running. Do yourself a favor and go with another company that is professional, polite and doesn't make you feel like you're an absolute waste of their time. 44 years of experience amounts to absolutely nothing when you still haven't figured out how to speak to customers.

Just wanted to give some useful feedback for people. When he came out to do the estimate, he said the job would probably be less than $500. We got the written estimate $550 through snail mail almost 2 weeks later, and he ended up charging $550 for LESS THAN AN HOUR's worth of work. I don't think he used any new materials. Just used some tools to bend up the edges of the metal valley and put mastic (patching material) on an area where 2 nails had gone through the underlayment. I did do a test run with a hose for 10 min, and it checked out ok. We will see if this fixed the problem in the long run - hopefully. He told me about 25 times he's been in business for 39 years (he yells that at you when he's going to do something you don't like), and that he goes up on the roof himself. He's ornery. He says he doesn't give a written warranty, but he will come back and do the work for free if anything goes wrong with his repair. He does show up on time. He doesn't use text, email, or voicemail... just phone calls and snail mail, so be prepared for that. It took almost 2 weeks for him to come out to do this job. He's reluctant to give references - makes a big deal that you didn't ask him BEFORE you chose him for the job, so ask him before he even gives an estimate. The original roofer refused to fix the problem, so I put up with it to get the job done. I wonder if I should have gone with the roofer who would have charged $800 for laying new underlayment on 2 whole sections of the roof. This is not a fake review, and I have more than 0 friends.

We had a slightly slopped roof that was leaking. We called Dennis @ Denco Roofing. He was local so I figured he would be able to give us quick quote. It was very quick & we accepted because of his promptness & thorough explanation of the situation and how he would go about fixing. The fix was detailed because it involved a valley, a multi level roof consisting of shingles & a section of rolled roof with heated seams. Dennis fixed them all...they look great. Three rains later, one very hard...I'm convinced it is fixed! The price was right as well. I highly recommend Denco Roofing! Thanks Dennis!Doug Finch <><
