Dr. Zhang is caring for me. I have not found a better doctor that really knows real Chinese Medicine. He also showed me some very helpful exercise maneuvers that really help. He is a professional. It is amazing what Dr. Zhang can do for arthritis.
The doctor is very knowledgeable. Very friendly, comforting and helpful nurse. Very easy scheduling. The office is very clean. I sprained my ankle two months ago and I immediately felt better after the first treatment. Wish I came here earlier.
I've been suffering from GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) for the past 7 years and have tried countless methods, from takings TUMs to PPIs (Proton Pump Inhibitor) such as nexium, and even at one time seriously considered surgical intervention to tighten the lower esophageal sphincter. Nexium worked well for me but as soon as I'm off medication, the heart burn and dry coughing comes back again. Living with GERD dramatically reduces my quality of life as I can't have any food that I used to love: anything that's excessively sweet, acidic, spicy, sour or carbonated. I stubbornly don't want to depend on meds for the rest of my life, so I sought out Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as an alternative to western medicines without having a high expectation at first. We spent many hours doing our research and ended up at Dr Zhang's clinic located in Irvine in our first try. My first experience and encounter with Dr Zhang was positive - him and his staff, Jane, both made me feel warm and welcomed at his clinic. After learning more about my symptoms and motivation to cure GERD once and for all, Dr Zhang prepared a week worth of Chinese herbs for me. I started taking the herbs he's prepared for me for about 1 month now and went back every week initially, and then every other week thereafter. The GERD symptoms and condition did not go away immediately after the first few visits, but I decided to trust the process and give it a fair chance to what I've done with nexium/PPIs (you must take it consecutively for 4-8 weeks for those who are not familiar with this med). After seeing Dr Zhang for about 1.5-2 months, my symptoms of GERD have noticeably reduced (coupled with dietary changes per his recommendation). I would say that my GERD has gone away at least 70-80%! I feel as if Dr Zhang has reset me and dialed the clock back to the days when I lived normally without GERD. He has given me a newfound chance and hope to live a high quality life again after suffering years from GERD. I know very well that I still need to be careful with what I eat and live a balanced lifestyle - no magic pill in this world would help me if I reverted back to my old ways of living. On a separate note, after playing two straight days of golf this past weekend, I felt a sharp pain in my lower left back. I laid in my bed that night in pain and couldn't turn or even sleep through the night without waking up several times. We don't have any pain killers at home and I decided for once not to take any. I scheduled an appointment with Dr Zhang and proceeded to get an acupuncture treatment the next day (followed by cupping and massage which feel amazing). After just 1 treatment I could already feel significant pain relief and starting gaining more range of motion in my back. He told me to come see him one more time 2 days later for another acupuncture session, and I can confidently say now that I've been healed and back to playing golf again! This is truly an eye-opening and life changing experience for me. Dr Zhang is a humble and honest TCM doctor with proper theoretical and clinical training from China and the US; he is a straight shooter and is not shy to admit the limitations of Chinese herbs and acupuncture - it's not a magic bullet for all diseases, but for certain illnesses, it works wonders, at least in my own journey. My experience with Dr Zhang cannot be any better and I intend to go see him again and would recommend him to my own friends and family.
