“The best I’ve found so far but left a sour taste.The good: The skirts I had tailored fit beautifully (I’ve had skirts tailored that fit awkwardly in all the wrong places…not the case here). But the skirts were both too big. Pari brought the waist in further immediately at pick up. Buttons are free. Prices are competitive. Pari and her sister are very friendly.The bad: I didn’t notice until I got home that one of the skirts was not only still too big, but that the hem of the new slit was unfinished (raw and frayed). I still need to bring it back.The ugly: I had the waist brought in on a vintage Chloe maxi skirt and the Chloe tag was gone at pick up. I called and Pari apologized but told me that happens sometimes when you take in a waist and they hadn’t seen it…still doesn’t sit right with me. If you want to keep your designer tags here probably best to say something up front and take before pictures as proof.“

“I highly recommend Maureen's Alterations. I had bought a nice dress a few sizes too big years ago because I really liked the material, style, color, print, etc. I never came around having it altered because there was not a special occasion. My son was due to graduate college and I figured it was time. My usual alterations place was not fulfilling my expectations since the last 2 alterations did not come out right and was way overpriced. I set about looking for a new place on Yelp and found Maureen. I was pleasantly surprised and very satisfied at how well she altered a size 12 dress to fit my size 6 frame. The dress came out perfect, as if I had bought it originally in a size 6.. Her work came out clean and seamless (for lack of a better word). It fit very well and to top it off, she charged me a very reasonable amount. I am already looking for more items in my closet to have altered. I don't normally write reviews but I felt the need to leave one in this case. I highly recommend this place and will be referring friends if they need any alterations done. Don't look any further, stop by Maureen's and you won't regret it!“

“Lina is an amazing seamstress! I drive to her from Sherman Oaks. because she’s the only one I trust, and have had multiple outfits altered over the past year. I often bring Indian outfits which can be very tricky to work with and I have never had a disappointing outcome. She’s always intuitive in how to make any alteration look natural and seamless and always willing to have a discussion about how we can work together to have my expectations brought to life. I cannot recommend her work enough!“

“I went to Louie's cleaners to get my wedding suit, blazers, and pants, and my wife's wedding dress to get it cleaned and preserved. The pants were $5, the blazer was $15, and the wedding dress cleaning and preservation was $250. They even offered to clean her veil and preserve it for no extra cost! The boxing did take about 9 weeks, but it was right after the July 4 holidays so it's understandable. Louie's cleaned my suit very well. As for the preservation of the wedding dress and veil, they did an excellent job! My wife can now view her preserved wedding dress from time to time, and she is very happy about it. I would definitely recommend Louie's if you need suit cleaning or wedding dress preservation!“
