Animal Hospitals near Hawthorne

“Dr Roskopf is incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. I brought my atelopus barbotini in last week, and he gave me antibiotics to put them on because we are unsure if the pet shop lied about them being wild caught or not. I appreciate everything him and his team did for me and my toads. I only give four stars because the appt was about a half hour late, and we arrived 15 min early. Like with humans, things happen with animals, and if my pet needed an extra half hour of care, I would hope the next patient would be compassionate- this doesn’t seem like a place that plans poorly. You can’t go inside, which bothers me and is why I give four stars, because I prefer to be with my animals when I take them anywhere. Frogs and toads are easily stressed, new environments being the thing that stresses them out most, people often strongly recommend against taking them to the vet, but Nick Stacy aka indicator species recommended I go given the circumstances- (he is the first hobbiest to successfully breed atelopus outside a lab) so the extra time in the deli cup probably wasn’t great. Their prices are very reasonable, but having to sit in my car in an uncovered parking space was a bit difficult, and I wasn’t able to turn off my car or the a/c would turn off, which wasted a lot of gas…

Unfortunately the toad passed away a few days later, and Dr. Roskopf called me back right away and suggested I get an necropsy done asap, in case it can help with the one toad I do still have.

Speaking of gas, bless the people that work at the auto repair next door ? the screaming bird sounds can’t be easy to work next door to lol (not a critique of the vet, just to end things on a light note)

Ps- please do not buy animals from pet stores, go to reputable breeders directly. There are so many people that will do anything to make a sale, coming across this Doctor was a nice reminder there are good humans out there that actually care.“

“Staff is very friendly and they knowledgable. The dr easily identified the problem in my dog ( hernia) and was able to successfully do surgery to repair it. Beast (my dog) couldn't be happier thanks to them :)“

“My beloved senior cat, Rusty, was suddenly in distress from long-term chronic kidney disease, refusing food for a couple days and unable to drink water without throwing up. I was freaking out because I had to leave town shortly for three weeks. This happened to be an important trip to care for my mom. I hated the thought of both "disappearing" on Rusty at this critical time, or not being there for him should he die. ESAH kindly carried through on offering me a cancelled appointment that same day. Dr. Shin was wonderful and caring. She told me that Rusty was in critical condition and advised of extreme measures that could be taken to try to stabilize his health. She also admitted that treatment may not work and would only offer a temporary solution. She assured me that--far from cruel--this would be a good time to let Rusty go. Her stating this was extremely important to me in making a very painful, sudden decision. Dr. Shin and the ESAH staff were exceptionally kind and supportive. They allowed my husband and I all the time we needed to pamper Rusty and say our good-byes. Rusty was calmed by our presence and drifted off peacefully. I'm grateful to Dr. Shin and the ESAH staff for guiding and helping me through this very tough experience. They followed up by sending me flowers the next day. As sad as I am over the loss of Rusty, I'm also feeling lucky to live near this amazing clinic.“

“Dr. Chung is a very warm-hearted, bright-aura, confident and reliable female doctor. I don't like lazy doctors, but she is quick to deal with problems and make decisions. She speaks English, Japanese and Korean fluently, which really helped me out when I was panicking at other hospitals. The room temperature was just right. My baby was wrapped in warm cloths and pillows and was able to be hospitalized in a very good environment. There are many cold places in the hospital, like a refrigerator, and my cat gets cold easily, so I was very relieved. I met the receptionist and other doctors, and everyone was kind. I will continue to come here.Thank you so much.“

“I took my dog Stormi Blu in today for a visit. Dr. Schlanger is so attentive, informative and all around a good human! There is no place I would take Stormi other then to this practice. I feel so safe knowing my Stormi is being taken care of properly and with care. The staff in the office are so helpful as well. Gina endured endless calls with me asking questions (I'm a new dog mom) and each call she handled with so much patience , understanding and kindness. “Last week, my sister and I rescued a cat who was severely injured from a dog fight. Took our little guy to the Access Hospital, and left with a big bill and no help. The next day we took him here, and I have no words to describe how caring and wonderful everyone was. From Gabby at the front desk, to the doctor and all of the nurses. They all were very sweet and helpful, went above and beyond to try and save Rayito. Unfortunately, the injuries were too much, and infection had spread. I know for certain, they did all they could... but this little angel needed to cross the rainbow. They gave us pain medicine, so he won't suffer, and we took him home. Crossing the rainbow bridge the following day. I will never forget the kindness they showed us during such a hard time. I have added a picture of Rayito. Took him to see the sunset at the beach the day before the crossed over. Thank you guys.“

They remind me of any upcoming health maintenance items in a timely manner. I trust the vet and her team with my cats. As for pricing- it is on the pricier side but if you can afford it I would come here.“

“I have a neighborhood cat that comes around. He was at my doorstep in the rain with a bad paw. I made an appointment with Animal Clinic Western to see what was wrong with his paw and found out that one of his nail was torn out and had an infection. So the veterinarian performed surgery and spayed him. The paw healed nicely and he is not spraying everywhere like he was before. Since he's technically not my cat, I feel better knowing he is out there able to defend himself. The staff is excellent making sure my billing was appropriate and provided options on what I can afford. The staff and veterinarian are friendly and caring. They are my new go to vet office for my other animals.“

Abigail's Journey at end of life; Dr G did everything possible to keep Abigail with us as long as possible, IV hydrations, IV meds, diet change, lab analysis, etc...keeping in mind quality of life for her. “Moving from Florida to California I was very worried about finding a good veterinarian for my best friend Bentley. Ironically where I moved into, I found out that this establishment was not even a 5 minute walk from my place. I decided to check it out due to how clean and nicely designed the veterinary office was, but also for how close it was.

I had a strong feeling that Pacific Animal Clinic would be a great place, but after Bentley's visit, it's *definitely confirmed* that this is an amazing establishment! Everyone who works here are literal angels. From the moment we walked in, Bentley and I were treated with such care and compassion that I knew we were in the best hands.
