I have been purchasing soil mix from these guys for about thirty years. As a former Landscape Contractor, Avocado Grower, and rare plant grower, I can say this is my favorite soil mix in the South Bay. Family run and friendly. By the tractor scoop so bring your truck. They have been known to fill containers if you bring one. Highly recommend!!!GregoryCertified Arborist

This place is a little hidden gem in the Southbay! I purchased soil from them about 3 years ago (two truck loads to be exact) for raised bed gardening and the quality of their gardening soil is unsurpassed. The color of the soil was almost black and full of nutrients as the plants we placed there grew really well without fertilizer. There were earthworms and other beneficial properties in the soil (very healthy). The soil is still going strong and has kept its beautiful rich color and qualities. Virtually everything that lands on this soil sprouts. We even have an avocado tree grow on its own from seed that is now over 7 feet tall (will have to relocate that tree but it is super healthy just with water in the Hy grade planting mix soil). I don't know what they do to the soil but it is excellent quality and the best part are their low prices and excellent customer service! We are purchasing more soil today! There soil is better than the Miracle Gro or potting soils at hardware stores. We have grown vegetables, flowers, and trees with it. I would highly recommend their product. I am surprised there are not more yelp reviews. They have affordable delivery prices for big projects too! Thank you Hy Grade Planting Mix and please don't change the formula!
