    Located in a rural area four miles south of Half Moon Bay, Purissima was one of the earliest settlements on the San Mateo County coast. Spanish soldiers founded the little hamlet before 1820 as an outpost for Mission Dolores in San Francisco, about twenty-five miles to the north. The lush land, ample water, and sunny climate supported the farms that supplied the mission with food. The town grew and, from the late 1840's, after the American annexation of California, continued to prosper as an agricultural community for many years.     My father wanted a green burial. We went looking for bay area options and found Purissma. They were amazing. They walked us through what we needed, who to call for the related services (transport and body prep), and were 100% professional and caring. Half Moon Bay is gorgeous anyway, but Purissma is AMAZING. I think I want a plot here too. Beautiful.
