I've done business with Alterations To Go for over 20 years...when they first opened their work, quality, and service levels could not be matched. Unfortunately, now they have none of that as their core business or customer service. Yes, they are outrageously overpriced, but if their work was good and delivered on time, I would support them. Sady, that is not the case. The last two times I have been there, the owner promised the alterations on a date written on the tag and when I went to pick it up, she said my items had been 'misplaced' - both times. She called later in the day to say they 'found them'...so I had to make another trip to pick them up with no apology or acknowledgement. Today, I had my last awful experience with ATG. The owner gave me a shockingly ridiculous price to hem a dress and repair a shoulder strap. When I decided against hemming the dress because of the price, she raised the price of the strap adjustment from her verbal quote and charged me a 20% 'fast fee' for asking to pick-up the strap alteration in a week's time. When I told her I would not need the work done, she walked away and into the back leaving me at the counter. I've heard the same stories from so many others who no longer use ATG after being treated badly, having prices change from verbal quotes to what gets written on the tag, or having their alterations 'go missing' when they are not ready on time. I am sad to see this long-time business evolve to this way of operating. It used to be a pleasure to deal with them.

Awful experience. I brought a 2-piece Saree to have the bottom section hemmed and taken in at the waist and to see if it was possible to add any room at all in the top piece. Firstly, I felt completely invisible as I was ignored for a good 10-15 minutes. Then, when I was asking if Snow could help with the above issues, she acted like the job was below her and told me the outfit was "cheap." Then, when I had the full outfit on and Snow was pinning up the hem, she ditched me to greet and help someone who had just walked in - 100% understandable since she had no other help, but when I had walked in earlier, there was no attempt to help or greet me. This place overcharges and overpromises on when your alterations are ready. I cannot recommend this place. I've now gone twice to pick up my items and was told they were not ready and asked me to wait 20-30 minutes. I came back and was told my items were not ready since they were coming from San Francisco. I wish the lady was honest from the get-go. It's costing me $100 to hem two pairs of pants and to fix a string on a dress. Totally absurd!
