I recently got my 6 month golden back from Duane's 3 week program. He was sent there for basic obedience training for a puppy. Before his training he would march to his own drum, tune me out if he is at all distracted, only do things if I was going to give him a treat, pull on the leash etc. After the program, my boy looks to me for leadership, heals PERFECTLY when we go on walks (I can go for 2 miles now with him by my side effortlessly). Another thing to mention is I have had friends who took their dogs into the more commercial/brick and mortar training facilities and the dogs did not learn much. In comparison, Duane does the training in his home where he lives with his family, which I think transfers much more seamlessly when the dog goes home to its owner.
It's been over 3 years since applying Duane's training principles and our pup is considered one of the best behaved dogs our friends and family know. We've even shared with friends and family and the process works when the time and commitment is put into practice. Our dog is the best listener, doesn't jump on furniture or people unless given permission and is really wonderful with our toddler. Our toddler even gives our dogs instructions for when to eat her food and to sit and give permission before taking a treat. Thanks so much Duane! Duane is a great trainer with a wealth of knowledge. He helped us immensely by training our golden retriever, and also by training us to understand how the dog thinks. I highly recommend the 3 week program, our dog came back with a much calmer demeanor and much improved obedience.
