This is probably the first time in my life I have ever written a bad review , because I believe that everyone makes mistakes however my experience with Hair Extentions was horrible .
Forget the overpriced 2300 lol i understand everyone values their work differently , but from the moment i went , not only was she 20 minutes late for the appointment but the girl that did my Brazilian before hand was in the worst mood cuz she wasn’t suppose to be the one doing my hair lol
I let all that go cuz we are all human . FYI I have pretty straight hair , and she recommended I do it when it was a waste of 500 dollars lol yes 500 for a regular Brazilian .
But the...read full review
Do not go to this salon for extensions. I got my hair extensions done here , they charged me $1200 for 8 hair bundles 18" (LMAO) I recently got my hair done again by Someone else , 22" 10 bundles I only paid $600 for the hair from hair shop, I went and got it myself. Funny thing is I took a picture of the hair bundles they showed me at this salon. It's the same thing as hair shop. Please stop lying and taking peoples money like that, nothing special about your hair you provide. She told me this is special order, her own hair line, blah blah allllll lies don't believe a word she says They shop from the same damn store everyone else does , HAIR SHOP !!!! don't waste your money here, this is fraud.
Created a Yelp account just to make this review. To be honest, I've had an extremely terrible experience going to Sylvia and I don't know if half of these reviews are false/fake/written by members of the salon or if I just had bad luck. 1) ATTITUDE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. When I went in for a free consultation, she was very aggressive and pushy. This was probably the first red flag and why I should have turned away at this point. Unfortunately I didn't and this just led to a ripple effect of messes. She took advantage of my distress with my hair and pushed me to pay for her service. By the time I paid for the deposit, I had trapped myself. Furthermore, she doesn't like it when customers ask questions-- threatening to cancel appointments and flaunting her "27-30 years of experience" as a response. You are working in the customer service industry, please remember that. She is not vaccinated nor does she wear masks. While I do understand that I still made the choice to stay (well my money was at risk), this was not professional nor did it follow covid guidelines in LA. For a service provider, this was definitely a health violation. Overall, she is extremely aggressive and a bit pushy. I would suggest future clients to be more assertive and to not let her fear mongering tactics get to you. I learned about this in a few of my marketing classes and I can confidently assert that she implements fear mongering tactics to trap clients. Do not be fooled by her Instagram page and actually check for reviews or do more research. This was something I wish I did, as I noticed that-- although she flaunts her Instagram followers and the "celebrities" she provides services for-- her page is a bit sketchy. Her likes to followers ratio does not seem to add up. 2) HAIR QUALITY. She had trapped me into getting a color correction but was extremely vague on what color I would be getting. She had bought my extensions (which I will get into in the next point) for me, which were pretty pricey, and pushed that I would get the color correction. Despite me telling her that my hair had been done prior already and I did not think it was a good idea, she pushed me saying that it would be alright and to trust her. Again, I should have just backed out by then but I'll get into the service of this color correction. The color correction not only ruined my balayage, she had taken out all the dimensions and left it with streaks of orange. I saw a chunk of my hair fall out during the bleaching process as well. I was not told any of this would happen and I had not agreed to taking out my balayage. I simply thought she was just going to remove color-- as she had said she was doing-- and fix any damages. Unfortunately I was left with frizzy orange and blonde hair. She even over texturized my hair and I was left with breakage. My natural hair is at an extremely compromised state right now. When I went to another stylist, they told me that normally they don't push for a color correction-- especially if your hair is already blonde. They just color match and you order the extensions yourself. 3) EXTENSIONS. I recently checked with another stylist and found that the extensions were placed at an awkward length. This risks damage to my natural hair and it looked a bit tacky, like a wig tbh. While it does look good in the back, it felt like she had put too much on my hair and it looks a bit unnatural on the top. Even though I had expressed my fears prior, she refused to listen. Furthermore, I counted the extensions she had put in my hair and I don't think she put in all the ones I had bought. She placed the order for me and picked it up, but I do not believe all of them were implemented. I counted how many packs she had placed in my hair and it didn't add up. To be honest, I read a prior review (which can be seen if you scroll on Yelp) that she steals hair extensions. I wouldn't be surprised if she did, because I'm not even sure if these were the extensions I had ordered. They were a bit different from wh
