Went there twice, the outcome really depends on the stylist... I got a really good haircut from the first stylist, but he wasn't available when I need my hair cut again. The second time with a different hair stylist, it went pretty bad. The hair cut makes me look like a balding lion. I have to put my hair up all the time. Still upset about it, especially when your coworkers point it out! Make sure you stay with the stylist you like or you will be like me. 5 stars on the first hair cut, also cleanness, location and friendliness. 1 star on the second hair cut. 3 stars final.

Love this salon. Originally I went to a different salon but decided to give this place a try when I went with my husband to the Costa Mesa Ability Location. Keishi is our stylist and he is an amazing stylist. He let's me know what will work and what won't. I was very hesitant when he first dyed my hair because I wasn't sure if he would be able to get the color to look natural since I was doing a root touch up but he did such a fantastic job. He is so accommodating and does a great job on cuts as well. My husband and I have found our go to salon for everything hair related.

Unwelt is owner Naoki's second location to the extraordinary salon Ability Hair Design in Costa Mesa. Every time I head down south from the Bay Area, I make sure to squeeze in time to have my hair designed with Naoki's one-of-a-kind skills. From thick or fine hair to wavy hair, he's able to transform any type of hair to an easy to manage set of locks. I even had him give my daughter (1 & 1/2 yrs old) her first hair cut & he did an amazing job. He's also a hair n*** when it comes to his salons. His assistants go through rigorous training so that every customer has top notch, consistent service. Having a deep treatment is a must as the head massages are simply heavenly....read full review
