I'm just an old guy getting ink during my midlife crisis. Suddenly at 50, I decided I needed tattoos, but such is life. My wife had previously gotten a couple of pieces here and highly recommended Onizuka so I knew I would be in good hands. I had the pleasure of connecting with Chuy for my first piece; my sons' middle names done in Canterbury Old English. Chuy is a talented artist and an absolute perfectionist. It also doesn't hurt that he's just a genuinely awesome dude. As soon as the first piece healed, I called to make another appointment to get my second piece, my family crest. I absolutely love both pieces done by Chuy and will be getting my next tat done by him in the near future. Mark who does the scheduling and works the front desk, is also a super chill and funny dude. Mark even texted me shortly after my first piece to check up on me and make sure things were healing well. How great is that? I've also interacted with some of the other artists, and everyone is super friendly and makes you feel at home. If you're interested in having work done here, expect a lead time of about 1-3 months depending on the artist. They are apparently quite busy and for good reason. Thanks gentlemen! I'll be back.
Fantastic shop. Studio setup makes you feel right at home and the traditional Japanese work is superb. All 3 artists are excellent at what they do, and each has their own unique style of Japanese imagery.
I've been getting tattooed for over 20 years now, and worked in magazine publishing for almost half that time. Having traveled the world and attended many tattoo conventions, Onizuka feels like a step above the rest. Really enjoy the studio setup, as it can feel as private or as open as it needs to be. Everyone here is super friendly, and the artists are all exceptionally unique in their styling and executions. When you're hours deep into a session and the pain is really starting to set in, it's good to have access to plenty of beverages, food and ammenities to ease back into comfort. The music is never overbearing or too loud like some shops, and it really feels like a second home. I'm getting work done by Jiro but all guys here do quality work and have their own way of doing tattoos.
