Clutter customer service is non-existent and there are many hidden fees and information that are not mentioned on the website UPFRONT. Your belongings may be mishandled, and even some workers suggested not to use them. On the morning of my move, I was told that the storage facility was not in Burbank as advertised on the website, but in Fontana. This moving company is terrible in every aspect. I strongly advise against using them. They deserve 0/5 rating, and I was only able to give them 1 star because Google forced me to.
Worst experience of my life with storage facilities. Arrived to obtain our $4k Purple Bed, a $pricey but sentimentality-linked (father's passing) credenza, and 15 totes of various keepsakes, clothing, household, and pet appliances, etc. Keep in mind we'd alerted them 1 week in advance and had multiple phone conversations requesting they NOT remove the wrapping material because we were flying in from Phoenix, picking up a pre-arranged 17ft Uhaul truck, before making the drive to Fontana, CA. Do not under any circumstances use this company as they are dishonest! The tool on their website is misleading. After I entered all of my requirements for storage, the tool indicated that I needed 10 x 10 storage. When they had placed all of my belongings on their truck, the tool indicated that 10 x 15 storage was only 87% full (it apparently updates in real time). However, once they got to their warehouse, I suddenly needed 10 x 20 storage (what happened to the real time updates??). As a result, I've landed up paying double what I was quoted and clearly the tool cannot be trusted if things change on the fly. Also, don't be fooled by the 2 hours included for packing and transportation. I had my entire apartment (1.5 bedrooms) packed up (boxes packed and sealed) and furniture dismantled. Yet they took 6 hours in total to wrap my large furniture and pack all of my belongings into their truck. Why, I hear you ask? Because, they photograph everything, barcode it and in my case, put sellotape on top of sellotape! They claimed that this was needed to secure the boxes even more. However, all of my boxes were already sealed so I felt this was utter B/S. This is where your first 2 hours will be spent. They then spent an additional 3:30 hours wrapping 7 (2 were round coffee tables) pieces of furniture. I'm a minimalist so I really don't have a lot of furniture. In fact, on the day that they were scheduled to pick up my belongings, I updated my list of items as I'd finished packing all of my boxes and their tool still indicated that I only needed 10 x 10 storage. As such, I've landed up paying double the storage I was quoted plus an additional $515 on the day for packing and transport. It's really difficult to say no when your items are already on their truck and on the way to their warehouse! Stay far, far away. When I submitted a claim, all I got was $79 and as everyone else has indicated, there is no way that you can speak to a supervisor. Based on all the negative feedback about this company, I'm shocked that they are still in business. As someone else indicated, maybe it's time we looked at a class action lawsuit as they are not listening to their customers. Their proprietary software is clearly misleading and they are somehow getting away with charging folks after the fact. I will definetely be laying a complaint with the BBB and any other consumer bodies as they cannot be allowed to get away with this sort of behavior. Totally and utterly disgusted and believe me, I will be sharing my experiences far and wide. PS - When they arrive, they spend 10 to 15 mins photographing everything and then you suddenly get an updated quote to sign. This is where they get you! Do not under any circumstances sign this document if it does not align with your original quote. That is where I should've said no, but guess what......you will pay $200 for an on the day cancellation!
