Since Dignity Health bought Mercy Medical Group patient care requirements have decreased due to their inability to develop a process for patient replacement when their Primary Care Physician leaves the group. I was shocked to experience such poor planning when we are talking about "my future healthcare" requirements. Further, I was told to get my own new PCP and sent me an insensitive letter "telling me" to find one with the short list that wouldn't accept My excellent health insurance. Since then, it's gotten worse. Several of my family and friends also had the same PCP, we are all in our 70's, we pay for our healthcare and Dignity has no dignity. I have been with MMG over 25 years but the new "robots" they call doctors now do Not represent human kindness. Specifically, I gave Dignity the word "human kindness" during a volunteer focus group at the 3000 Q Street facility when they first usurped the local medical community. My exact words were, when asked the question what do you really want.....My response was, I don't want sympathy, I don't even want empathy, I JUST WANT HUMAN KINDNESS. Within 60 days of that meeting, my words, were plastered all over Sacramento on buses, elevators, on TV, employee garments, etc. Did they ask me if it was okay to quote MY words? I said yes as I was walking out of the room and was never acknowledged for my contribution. How very rude when they are not practicing what I preach! How unspeakable it is for our doctors who must "diagnose and treat" each patient in 15 minutes, they get 30 minutes for an annual. 25 plus years as a Patient,98.9% of my Mercy Doctors were wonderful, loving, caring human beings who showed their human kindness in ways that seem to have disappeared in the midst of video appointments and lack of time. No more personal touches. I can't even call their administration office because they are cold and so above the money they make off the elderly patients like me. It seems their poor business practices have taken them by surprise, cowards. Oh they do have a a "Patient Advocate", but she who is supposed to represent thousands, should get back to you in 48 hours! However, if you think you are in dire straits go to the ER, where they do nothing while you wait for hours to be told so? What is wrong with this picture? Next, This is the travesty! 6 days ago when Dr. Cold was notified that a 15 plus years of taking this medication had been overlooked. In 2 days I entered my own prescribed medication withdrawals with every side effect I found on Wikipedia. No one called me to explain that I could die but they are, were, what??? Another interesting fact, Sutter is having the same problem. We will change providers in October. UCDavis is looking good
Love my Mercy GP, Dr. Ali. However, the service by the organization is horrible! Called to make an appointment, 10 minutes of navigating redundant questions by the automated system, asked if you want to leave feedback and then you can't, resulting in a 20 minute wait to schedule an appointment. Exhausting.
As with everything in life, our experiences are unique to the individual…I’ve been seen here for a workers comp claim & I could not speak higher of this group! Knowledge, compassion and follow through with paperwork (administrational matters that often befuddle the masses). We’ve all heard horror stories regarding Workers Comp claims….Not Here! They passionately and patiently walked me through the healing process
