Melinda Vickrey Piano & Vocal Music Instruction

Melinda is an amazingly skilled teacher and we are so thankful to be able to work with her! She has taught my grandsons, ages 7 and 9 via zoom lessons for about two years. She is so fun and her teaching proficiency, professionalism, attention to detail and competency in music amaze me! She has such a great demeanor with the kids. She is encouraging and explains clearly what they should be doing. She goal sets with them and is patient in explaining anything they have trouble with. I love that they are also learning responsibility and time management in addition to piano, rhythm and music theory! I sit with the kids during lessons to make sure they are on task and Melinda can tell (by ear) if they are playing the wrong note and re-direct them. I am very thankful for her as great teachers, in any respect, are hard to come by and she always gives 100%. It is clear she loves people and what she does! I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in learning from the best, even worldwide!

I have been taking piano and voice lessons with Melinda for a little over a year and am so grateful for finding her. Before this, I had very little music theory and application instruction and I had never had piano or singing lessons. I have learned so much about proper technique for piano and voice, music theory and applying the basics of music to be able to play and sing songs. Melinda has tremendous knowledge of music theory, history, performance and the ability to teach all age groups and levels. She is very sweet and compassionate and a wonderful teacher. I highly recommend her!

Now when I am writing this review I am literally in tears of gratitude for having found such a wonderful person in my life to coach my daughter.Geo is 7 years old and have been working with couple of music teachers already when we had to move to Folsom.After a thorough research I chose Melinda and little did I know about how cool she was going to be with my daughter( was 6 yrs old then and she is a super talker).She surprised me in how well she would answer all of Geo's questions yet get her back into her lessons.Not only did she coach her with her voice but also with only 6months of Piano lessons Geo was able to PASS her Certificate of Merit Exam (Prep Level).She throws in 2 recitals per year and I had tears in my eyes when I saw all the little tots performing challenging songs and reading through their music notes playing Piano.Above all, She is a good hearted person (One of a Kind) blessed with such great patience and Passion towards Music and "Teaching "Music.I still can't find the right words to describe how I feel about the classes and how encouraged my daughter feels every time She goes to her classes.I am proud to say that My daughter will be appearing for Certificate of Merit exam - both Piano (Level 1) and Voice (Level 1) next year with all Melinda's efforts and Geo's passion towards Music.I recommend that all the little ones start music with her directly from the very beginning to have an amazing journey in their lives and for adults at any time in their life.
