“We'd been looking for a clinic to take us in to save our rescue kitten. After desperately calling and visiting other clinics, we ended up going to the Cal West Pet Hospital. They were the ONLY people who showed interest in our poor kitten, and they took mercy on us. Unfortunately, our kitten had to go, but we're thankful to Dr. Jurberg and Dr. Palm for being honest and for helping us the best they could. We will definitely come back to visit them. Thank you Doctors and thank you to your wonderful staff.“

I think this person was perhaps an office manager or something, she didn't introduce herself to me so I can only assume.... Anyways, here's what happened today.... I brought my dog in to have an ultrasound. I had previously discussed this over the phone with the vet. I was under the impression that a abdomen and chest ultrasound would cost around $500 to $600. When I dropped my dog at the vet this morning for this ultrasound I assumed that that was still accurate. When I picked her up they had done an abdomen and neck ultrasound instead which I totally understand.... in the moment you gotta do what you got to do, that's not a problem, I used to work in the hospital so I get that things change as you start looking for and discovering things etc What I don't understand is that when I asked the office staff to explain the price difference to me they sent out this person who was talking down to me, being condescending and rude with her words and her tone. She was referring to my wife as "confused" and also said "do you need to call her, did she not understand what the vet said," making me feel like somehow I'm the bad guy and that maybe my wife is dumb, or at least they think she is. Funny thing, after I checked with my wife, she said she never talked to the vet and never discussed pricing when the staff called to say Maddy was ready to be picked up. Also... this person was trying to put some paper in my hand showing "an estimate" that they had just created, an estimate that we never saw previously or signed, which means that paper had no actual meaning to it at all, so I wouldn't take it from her... She was being a little rude the whole time and when I said to her, and I quote , "I don't know why you're talking to me that way it's really weird" she got defensive and then walked away without explaining anything any further about the pricing discrepancy. While I was waiting at the front desk to pay the $750, I heard this person in the background complaining to all the other staff in the office about our interaction which made me feel really uncomfortable. So, I just paid and left. I don't really know if I should ever return here because I'm worried that this person will find a way to “

“It's hard to get a timely appt. because the vets are very good. Our vets for over 40 years! Recently decided to close on weekends. That meant bringing my dog for emergency treatment at UCD. Oy! Over $1000 !! Twice in 1 year! Thank goodness for pet insurance or we would be broke! Impossible to find any vet open on weekends. But Dr Russum is the best vet in Solano County so we are grateful when he is available.“

“Great and knowledgeable staff. The tech gave updates about the procedure and Doctor managed her pain well and left a small incision site from her spay.“

“The staff is kind, efficient, patient and understanding. They treated our family cat with kindness and compassion. We had a consultation because our cat was weak and not eating or drinking enough and seemed to be getting worse pretty fast. We were given a recommendation for x rays and electrolytes. The bill was high, my mom needed help paying. It was closing time. We scheduled the X-rays and electrolytes for the next day. We took our cat home and he died early the next morning. It's nobody's fault, it was too late to save him I'm sure. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 stars is that I believe the vet, with all of his experience, could've told us that at that point our cat's condition was so bad that we should take him to an emergency clinic right away and plan to have him put to sleep or he might pass away at home. Instead, we noticed that a bigger emphasis was placed on the money being paid for the consultation and the x rays and electrolytes the next day. So I recommend to everybody, if your pet is fine and healthy, Animal Hospital is a good place to go for routine visits. But if your pet is in bad condition, please go to UC Davis Veterinary Hospital in Davis, CA. The 30 minute drive from Fairfield is worth it. Those students and their Veterinary teachers go above and beyond for the animals (I've taken my dogs there for years and they're amazing). Still, no bad feelings for Animal Hospital. We are grateful for their help despite the pain of losing our family cat. Thank you for reading ‍“

“Thank you, Animal Hospital in Fairfield, for your compassionate and gentle care given to our family and fur baby on short notice. Our dog usually receives care at this practice, but unfortunately, the first time our 14-year-old cat was here was when we had to decide to put him down. I called for an appointment, and the staff immediately treated me with kindness and compassion. They gave us multiple available same-day time slots and scheduling options. We chose the latest same-day appointment so it wouldn't be as busy. I'm sure everyone was tired and ready for the day to be over, but they didn't show it. We never once felt rushed through anything. Letting go was by far one of the most difficult decisions we had to make, but the staff made sure to guide us through the process and make it as comfortable as it could be. We will never forget the professional and compassionate care you provided to our best cuddle cat so that he was no longer in pain. Thank you for taking such good care of all of us.“

“Dr Knowles is by far the best veterinarian I've ever met . She really cares about your animals and is so knowledgeable. If you have any concerns she actually listens and addresses them to put you to ease. She doesn't make you feel pressured to doing anything you aren't ready to do . Takes pride in her job . Her assistant is also amazing. Had a great visit. Not vet for me and my fur babies“
