“I've been to a few vet locations in Visalia and they weren't necessarily bad experiences, but I felt there was someone better out there. Some vets took a few weeks to get back to me, others didn't respond at all. I get it, the pandemic delivered a leg sweep to all types of medical professionals and showed no mercy. So I asked a trusted friend who she would recommend and she said House of Paws. I received a prompt response and a very reasonable appointment time. When I got there, I was treated kindly along with my cat and was asked how I came up with her name (Popoki: cat in Hawaiian). The office was clean and there was a friendly and calm atmosphere that was enjoyable. What amazed and pleased me is how many patients (and their parents) were greeted like they're old friends. Everyone remembered names, families, history, it was awesome to watch. To me, that means there's a relationship and I like that because it's important. I also witnessed an extra attentive kindness and dignity for a pet and theirparent who had to unfortunately euthanize their baby. A room was set aside for this family that was quiet with a comfortable couch so they'd be able to provide dignified, unhurried and peaceful comfort to their baby. This was evidence that House of Paws actually cares about their patients and parents. The care team I had with both my cats (our newly adopted family member) were attentive and the nurse thoroughly communicated with the vet. I felt involved in the care which helped my cats to feel more comfortable, which I appreciated. I also appreciated that when I said I was looking to adopt, I wasn't just hustled into the back room and asked to pick a cat with one hand while handing over my debit card with another. They wanted to make sure that the cats were comfortable and safe with our elderly house chi's. Tracy actually knew the personalities of each cat they had there and (this means a lot to me) said she would check around for any cats who were comfortable with dogs. I appreciate that they weren't about to just hand out an animal to anyone without knowing the person. I just wanted to say, I don't "own" my pet, I'm their guardian. A guardian is a protector and defender and I feel that everyone here at House of Paws is a genuine protector and defender of animals. This means they love animals and are loyal to them so guess what? I'm loyal to House of Paws.“

“Dr. Shafer is the best vet on the planet. She is such a kind person with an amazing heart. She has taken excellent care of our dogs for the last 5 years, and our beloved cat CC for 17 years. Dr. Shafer was by our side, going above and beyond when CC was diagnosed with cancer about 6 months ago. She did everything she could for our CC. When she became too sick, the pain too much for her to bear and couldn’t fight anymore. Dr. Shafer helped us through the most heart breaking time in our lives. When you meet her, you immediately feel like you’ve known her your whole life. That’s just the kind of person she is. Thank you Dr. Shafer.“
