I had my Sisterlocks installed back in 2019 at the end of May and it was the best hair decision of my whole life! I had tried every style, weave and went through 2 BIG BIG CHOPS!! For over 3 years I had been deeply interested in locking my hair but I wasn’t ready to make the move until one of my CA adopted moms introduced me to her certified Sisterlock loctician, Cathy - the owner of Locs of Luv. After meeting Cathy and visiting the shop, I felt dramatically more comfortable with taking the plunge. The shop was peaceful, welcoming and super clean. Cathy and her daughter, Rachel, are very professional, kind, and wonderful all around so I knew immediately that they would not have me as just a client but would become like family. Cathy installed a few starter locks after my initial consultation, after I asked a million questions for weeks, and I was able to enjoy them for several weeks before committing 100%. Well, needless to say, I fell in love with my starters and here we are now - I am approaching my 3 year anniversary at the end of May 2022. I hope that everyone is able to have such a wonderful experience because mine was truly more than I could have asked for. Not only do people ask me who installed my Sisterlocks constantly, I’m absolutely in love with my hair and the journey has been liberating to say the least. I had been natural for about 9 years before deciding to visit Locs of Luv and was very worried about the process all around. I don’t really like anyone in my hair but that changed quickly after my consultation! Cathy is so very patient with my continuous questions and concerns, gentle with my hair, extremely precise and has been available to me every step of the way from installation to present day. Going to the shop became a life highlight for me because I enjoyed it so much - it became a therapeutic time! After the initial installation, Cathy gave me excellent service and retied my locks perfectly. Rachel did a couple reties also and that was also perfect. Even through Covid shut downs and my recent relocation out of state, both Cathy and Rachel have been available to help me with questions and/ or concerns and that is priceless. If you’re considering Sisterlocks and are near San Diego, CA (Escondido) or can make a trip there, this shop is THE ONE. Yes, I said plan a whole trip to San Diego for THE BEST to work on that gorgeous loose hair of yours. Isn’t that a perfect opportunity to take a vacation too, while you’re there? If I’m being honest, I won’t even consider another shop at this point, because they spoiled me so much ha ha, so I took the retie class and maintain my own. I have not even one single regret and would do it all over again the same exact way.
