In January of 2024 an injured two year old calico was found on the street. Fat Kitty City took her on throught their Elf Fund and paid for surgery to remove a badly injured front arm and most of her tail.
In updates on Petfinder I saw Bethany for the first time. I had just lost my sweet cat Storm and was looking to adopt a young cat. She was tenacious and funny, living with a foster family just up the hill.
After a few months of deliberation and her recovery from surgery, I put in an adoption request. Everything went smoothly, everyone was professional and friendly, it was a beautiful process.
I recently rescued and fostered a litter of kittens who were born outdoors. I reached out to Fat Kitty City to see if they could help me place the kittens and, although their rescue wasn't accepting intake at the time, Christine was so helpful and did a courtesy posting for me. With Fat Kitty City's help, my foster kittens got the exposure they needed and were adopted into a loving forever home! Christine and Fat Kitty City do great work for their community and help so many kitties. Thank you Fat Kitty City!

Fat Kitty City is tucked away on serene country property in El Dorado Hills. The outdoor space is full of little houses and hideaways for the cats to enjoy. It is very well-kept and clean. Visitors are greeted by adult kitties who are very friendly and eagerly await pets and chin scratches. The volunteers know all of them and know their personalities. They can help you find your perfect companion based on activity level, and demeanor. We have dropped of donations there and the staff/volunteers were very helpful and knowledgeable. My dad ended up adopting one of their adult rescue cats from Petsmart in 2014 and she was the sweetest cat ever. (She passed away recently)... read full review
