I highly recommend Sabita for haircuts! I have a very technical short bob with bangs and she nails it every time. It is not an easy cut to do, especially with my cowlicks. It is so nice to be able to sit back and relax and know that I am in good hands. I started seeing her when she was at Supercuts and was panicked when they suddenly closed a few months ago, and I thought surely I'd have to find someone new. So thankful that she put up a note outside with her contact info! Now it's an even more enjoyable experience in her own space in Sola Salons. I understand that she offers more services, like color, that I don't get, but I'm sure she's great at everything she does!
I've been going to Herman and Rosa for about 3 years now, they've helped to reshape and refine my wardrobe in a bit way. I've taken almost all of my wardrobe to them at this point, to reimagine old pieces and to customize new ones. I only wear vintage and archival pieces, and seek out slightly larger sizes knowing I can bring them to Herman and Rosa to be tailored. From my vintage t-shirts to tapering my pants, changing the fit on my jeans and even repairing vintage coats of mine- I love going to see Herman and Rosa to get my pieces customized perfectly for my size. They provided a quick turn around with a more than reasonable timeline for all repairs. I always call ahead when I plan to drop things off or go to pick them up. We booked an appointment and their crew showed up on time, was very clean and organised, our seamless gutters and downspouts look great and we’re extremely happy with the whole process.We would definitely use Sunshine Gutters again but they did such a great job, I think we are good for the next 20-30 years ?

But more than that, the process was smooth, mostly due to his ability to constantly stay on top of details and keep us in the loop with near constant communication. His standards are very high, for himself and his subcontractors, and it was an all around pleasure to work with him over the three and a half month project. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Phil has been cutting my hair for over 20 years. You get way more than a great haircut that continues to look great as your hair grows out. Phil knows so many people from the area and loves to introduce people who are getting their haircut to the folks who are with waiting for their haircut or who have just dropped by to chat. It's an experience that you won't forget and will look forward to repeating.

American Nails is wonderful! They’re my go-to in the area. I’ve gotten both acrylic and gel nails there and loved them both. Annie and Lee are super kind and great at what they do. Really reasonable pricing and great quality!
I've been in twice so far and both times have been excellent. I've had dip once and acrylic the next and one pedicure and the service has been top notch. My nails both times have been SOOOO good. I've been searching for my new place and I believe Sara's nail salon is the spot as it's the only place I've came back to. Everyone does great work and is so welcoming and friendly.

Last time I got my dip done here it lasted over two weeks and still looked great could have kept it at least another week no chips but I wanted a new color. Anne did my nails today and was very gentle she took her time but didn't take too long.

Amazing service always. I come visit three people...Keayoni and Teaundra for hair and braid styles and Aliya for lashes. Great customer service, and I am always happy with the outcome. They also include a wash with service, which extremely rare these days from braiders. Since they are all licensed, you will receive full service and can ask for scalp treatments, deep conditioning, a trim or cut, color, and the style of your choice. Support these amazing ladies.

I hadn't had my hair done since pre-pandemic. On the recommendation of a friend, I made an appointment and Linna did her magic. She gave me great cut and a soft perm to give my thin, fine hair beautiful body. I love my new look. And I will definitely be coming back!!!!
My stylist retired after 20 years. With my anxiety looming, I head out to try and find a person that knows what they are doing with curly hair. I had tried this salon a while back, and decided to give it another try. Jazz is a young and very skilled hairstylist who now has a chair at Reflections. She's amazing! She listens to what you want and does a great job in styling hair, so much in fact, that I also brought in my three children. All three have a very different hair styles from short and modern for my youngest son, to layered for my daughter and then long and layered on one side and short and traditional on the other for the 17 yo. This would be a test of her skills with such different approaches to hair. She did fabulously well and is so nice to work with! She is so patient, I even brought my elderly mother-in-law in (who has Alzheimer's), for a haircut and she had no problem taking good care of her hair. We're all set for Summer highlights next. Can hardly wait!
Wendy's nails had been around a longgggg time! A local staple. None of the frills, very basic but excellent service. She does nails, her focus is on making sure your hands and feet are in tip top condition, not nail designs. She does all the things other salons charge you extra for! It's just Wendy and her husband Kevin working as a duo team in this salon. Been coming here since I was 15 and I'm 35 now. A few weeks ago I came here to get my nails done for a wedding, I was in the bridal party and got them done the day before. All of a sudden the power went out, on the whole block, and I told Wendy, I have no choice! You have to finish! So we busted out the flashlights and she finished my nails and instead of gel she found a gel top coat for me. They were perfect and beautiful and only someone with her skill set could finish in the dark, ha! She prides herself on being clean and Covid safe. A lot of us are long time customers that don't want to give her up as a local secret, but... she deserves the patronage. I’ve been getting my hair blessed by Alli for a little while now and she always knows exactly how to bring the best out of it ! I’m in the beauty industry as well and it can be hard for me to truly relax in the chair and she always makes it a moment for me. She puts up with my non stop talking, and remembers details about my life, which I so appreciate. The best part about working with Alli is her ability to decipher what I’m trying to ask her for even when I’m not sure what words to use or when my brain is fried and all I can do is gesture. Not only is the price right, but Jenny really knows how to cut hair. She has an artistic flare and seems to intuitively cut my hair just right. I have short fine thin hair and she styles it well. Highly recommend her. I drive from Oakland to get a haircut.

Mai did a fantastic job with my nails! I got normal polish, not gel, and she did such a great job -- even better than other salons with gel. No nicks. Beautiful color. Her and her staff make you feel like a princess. Her salon is a gem that you must check out! Definitely worth the visit.

Been going to Uma for about 2 years now. She's great with taking me in as a last minute walk in though sometimes there's a little bit of a wait which is understandable (my fault for not scheduling ahead of time). I don't trust anyone else with my brows, she does them exactly the way I want them. I've even got my boyfriend going to her.
Peggy is just wonderful . I took my mom for a facial here. I have myself been here few times before. I must say Peggy did an excellent job accessing my moms skin concern and recommended her a European facial. My mom has dry skin and she has never like any facial as much as this one. She was very happy with Peggy's work and I highly recommend this place. Besides that, although the place is located is a small busy plaza area, once you step inside the place , it's very serene , calm and has a relaxing atmosphere. We even ended up buying facial products from here.
Maybe I got lucky going on a Wednesday at 2pm, but this place was surprisingly charming! Bay Beauty Spa is currently closed for construction so I decided to try the 30min/30min full body and foot reflexology combo here ($50) and it was good!! I also like that they have a bigger parking lot.
I was the only person there, it being a weekday, so it was very peaceful/calming. The lady I had (Linda?) was also good at communicating to ask if I was comfortable as well. I love that they massage your head/face/scalp too (Bay Beauty Spa doesn't anymore for the foot combos, they say you have to get a full body massage for head massages ?)
I also love how nice the front desk ladies were! I wanted to buy a certificate and the woman who spoke English had left for a moment, but the ones there were able to communicate to wait how they could and even took out Google translate to help me! I thought that was very nice of them.
Will be returning, especially while Bay Beauty is still under construction (and maybe even after!).
Andreea is THE BEST! and this review is way long overdue. I've been seeing her for the last 5 or so years. Best facial I ever had. She uses amazing natural products, and the facial is personalized to one's skin needs. If you're looking for an excellent facial experience-book your appointment. I HIGHLY recommend her services.
We had a leak in our bathroom sink. Called our neighbor to ask for a plumber recommendation, and ironically they had just used used Phillips Plumbing that same day. Said they would be coming back the next day to install a new part that had to be ordered. We called to arrange an appointment and Brian said he could come the next day, since he would be in the neighborhood anyway. He arrived right on time, found a hole in the pipe and was able to replace it right then. We also told him that the water was draining very slowly so he cleared out the lines, including the one in the wall. Wow...what a difference...definitely our Drano solution would have never worked! It was definitely the best experience ever with a plumber. Brian was super friendly, work was exceptional and price very reasonable. Yay! 10 stars!
Olivero Plumbing came and redid my bathroom a few weeks ago and did a wonderful job. They were reasonably priced for all the work they endured and all the employees were very professional and on time. I would recommend this plumbing business to anyone looking!
Larry did a great job cleaning our carpets. He was courteous and communicated well as our appointment got closer. Price was very reasonable. The only downside is I had to wait a few months for an appointment, but he's a one-man show and he gets booked out because he's good, so I can't fault him for that. Definitely would hire again!

Eli and his crew did an amazing job on our kitchen remodel. They transformed the world's ugliest kitchen into the beautiful, serene center of our home, a place where the whole family loves to gather. And they did so--shockingly--on time and on budget! I had been pushing off the project for months, dreading the stress and disruption. But Eli and his team, Romeo and Pedro, made the process surprisingly easy; every morning, without fail, they showed up on time and worked quietly (well, as quietly as one can while tearing down a supporting wall), skillfully, and efficiently. We were genuinely sad to say goodbye to them at the end of the project--my kids kept asking when Romeo and Pedro would come back to visit. The answer: As soon as we can afford another house project!
Finally, I want to say that the whole crew was so friendly and patient with our kids. We have a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old, who were constantly wandering up to Romeo and Pedro, chattering at them and getting in their way. Romeo, in particular, treated both kids with gentle good humor, chatting back and calling them over to watch while he did interesting things like pour paint into buckets. We were really touched by his kindness.

We interviewed 6 SF contractors and chose Promodeling, Inc based upon references, price and their Project Manager, Alexandra. Alexandra took us through very detailed plans on how project would be handled, from SF Permitting, HOA approval procedure, material choices and delivery coordination as well as inspections to completion well within the window promised. Their construction team led by Bladimir and Brian were superb. They were masters in their crafts, very timely, organized and neat…respectful of our property and building. We would highly recommend Promodeling, Inc. of El Cerrito.

I love Dr. Nick and his entire practice team... and more importantly, my son (now 9) does, too! Dr. Nick has handled all of our dental issues, big and small, with thoughtful, conscientious care and expertise. He makes kids feel welcome and comfortable immediately, from the physical office (the X-ray set-up makes the kids feel like they are riding a pony - so fun!) to the friendly staff. He balances professionalism (the office is always on time) with personal attention and care. I can't recommend Dr. Nick enough! My son even asked if he could invite Dr. Nick to his birthday party!

I'll echo the chorus of positive reviews here. As a late 30s-something person who has danced for over 25 years, I was growing pretty frustrated with ongoing pain from a back and hip injury. I had never gone to a chiropractor and was anxious that I would somehow get more seriously injured. Although I'm not quite dancing at the level I used to, my overall pain has lessened significantly and I'm a lot more active than before visiting Dr. Josh. I'm so thankful his practice exists.

I went here for a 1 hour massage with a sore back. Lili was very helpful and did an adequate job. Not the best but a fine massage. I left an appropriate tip of $20.
The place is convenient, clean and tidy. I’m giving it 4 stars because there was a lot of taking in Chinese over the pleasant music and she cut the massage short at 50 minutes. I asked for work on my hips and she massaged them for 5 minutes more. This place is a little cheaper at $55/hour but I guess at 55 minutes to the hour it’s the same as $60/hour.
