“After getting tired of barber hopping all over the valley with what seems like shops hiring amateur apprentices just to fill empty chairs, I finally got around to Zavalas. No halfass cuts just to get to the next person in line, no knuckle head barbers that couldn't wait to get high until after work. A real gentleman's barber shop. I felt like bare knuckle fisticuff fighting someone at a Saloon over a poker game after walking out of there.“

“Jazzmin got down on this lil low fade. She slicked me back exactly like how I wanted but I don’t know if I can add that to the edit later. She was calm cool collected and straight forward that she wanted to give a lot of attention to detail cause she wanted to throw it down and show wussup with the skills since she was a female with delicate hands.I have trust issues too so I know god was checking my status but look. I didn’t find my little metal head chola like I wants to at the function but she was smooth and very focused.She had light hands and I got caught snoring a couple times.She was respectful with my head hitting the desk.It came out to $30+ after a beard and eyebrow clean up. Not bad. “let me start by saying i absolutely hate most barber shops. usually the barber shop atmosphere is filled with a bunch of weird stares and toxic masculinity that honestly just made me choose people in the past that owned their own studio that would make the cut more personal and allow me to relax in a controlled environment without all the unnecessary chaos. coming from memphis back to cali I was extremely nervous because I knew I would most likely have to go back to the barber shop environment and when I did had a couple low bar experiences at a shop in brawley. after asking around a couple times I found out about this shop through a friend who is also an outsider who had a hard time finding the right shop for her family. she directed me to top notch and i’m not gonna lie between san diego and memphis I think i’ve found the perfect spot that will never lose my business. I started with Andrew who despite the language barrier gave me a clean detailed cut that was well worth my money. my second time I was lucky enough to get paired up with Victor who is more along what I was looking for in terms of accuracy with my curls and difference in hair texture. both barbers were extremely respectful and accommodating when it came to what I asked for and what my end result. the atmosphere is extremely different than the countless shops i’ve been to since I was a child. all the barbers always have a good attitude and don’t seem to care about anyone else but who is in their chair at the moment. would highly recommend you try this place if you haven’t before you might find a barber that could be the best fit for you. 10/10 experience every time and the owner is super cool and gives the vibe that he only accepts good cuts and nothing else ?.“
