We found Mike through Yelp, and I'm so glad we connected with him! When we started speaking with him, we already had an estimate for laminate flooring, but we thought it was a bit high, so we wanted to explore our options. My fiancé and I have very busy schedules, but Mike worked with us, and opened his showroom on a Sunday so he could show us all the samples. He presented quite a few choices, but made sure to advise us on what would be best within our budget. He was very polite, hard working, and organized. My fiancé took out all the existing tile in our home himself, but Mike's crew professionally smoothed down the mortar and hauled away the tile for us. They were quick, reasonably priced, did a great job! Also, I was trying to supply the new baseboards myself through another company, but they were not going to be available in time for the install, so Mike made sure he had the matching ones to the rest of our home, and installed them, to get the job done! Short version: 10/10! We are so thankful to have found Mike and Universal Flooring! Long version: It has taken me a while to write this referral because I wanted to do it justice! At the end of 2023, my family was moving into a new home and we were desperate to redo the flooring before moving in. For weeks I went to Home Depot and Lumber Liquidators and compared flooring options. I was all over the place, undecided between wood, engineered wood, laminate and vinyl. I had finally decided on something and I called Mike to get an estimate on installation. He came over and measured the floor and gave us an estimate well below the big box stores. I was telling him about my indecisiveness and he suggested that I come to his showroom to really get a feel for the different floor types. A few days later my family and I went to the showroom and I fell in love with a special order laminate. My husband was thrilled that I had finally made a decision! We were on a tight timeline for moving in and Mike called the flooring manufacturer on a Saturday to be sure they had my pick in stock. Mike ordered the floor immediately and we all waited for it to be delivered to California. We were also juggling appliance deliveries and I was concerned that would hinder the floor install. Mike assured us that he and his team would take care of whatever popped up. With days to spare before our move in, about a week before Christmas!!!, Mike and his team get our beautiful floor installed. Mike comes to the job site often to check on the work. We had initially decided to put the flooring over our kitchen tile but Mike and his team called us immediately as soon as they realized our dishwasher wouldn't fit with that scenario. We gave them the OK to rip out the tile in order to put the flooring down. And they still got it all done in time! Mike is always available and responsive. I never knew laminate flooring could look this good. Everyone that comes over raves about it and my husband jokes that the house would have easily sold for more money if this flooring was in place instead of the nasty carpet it came with. We are so happy with our experience!
