“I am very happy with my new kitchen, and I have Alex and his team at Kitchen By Design to thank for it. It was by chance I happened upon their store while visiting Sherman Williams next door for exterior paint. I stopped by unannounced and was warmly welcomed. Alex said he would come to my home the following day to take measurements. True to his word, he showed up on time, and within a day or two showed me a layout with a cost estimate that was within my budget, along with outlining the scope of work and writing up a contract. The estimated project time was three and a half weeks. I signed on the bottom line and the work began the following week. Alex was great to work with and was professional, and responsive to any of my questions or concerns. By having a storefront with an assortment of good quality, cabinets, tile, fixtures and fittings to choose from, I felt more comfortable working with Kitchen By Design vs other contractors that showed up at my home in a truck with a tape measure, notepad and a pencil behind one ear. Given I was not able to be on-site the entire time, technology played a huge part in keeping the project on track. Alex kept me up to date with progress. He got input from me when necessary, and the project completed on time. When I walk into my new kitchen, I still can't believe it's finished. Foothill has excellent relationship with subcontractors and remained on top of the process at every turn. They worked hard to control costs and kept us informed on that front as well. “It's difficult to find great repair people who know what they are doing and provide excellent value. I was a little hesitant to hire "Harry the Handyman" just because of the name. But I guess you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. I had a wall heater that had been not working properly for many years. Gas company even came to check out and thought it must have had the problem when it was installed eons ago. I gave Harry a call on a Friday and we scheduled an appointment for Monday. To be honest it didn't start off great because the time kept getting pushed back but it had started raining and he was on the other side of town- these things happen. So it's understandable that there might be delays. When Harry showed up he got right to the job- he knew what he was looking for and fixed the problem that had been plaguing this wall heater for years. It took less than 15 minutes. Others were quoting a price of $2000 to install a new one. This wall heater is in a rental apt. When the long time tenant, who had stopped using the wall heater because of the problem, heard the wall heater startup without sounding like it was going to blow out the windows, he said, 'I've never heard that before.' It was a soft sounding ignite. Harry had fixed the problem, making the tenant and owner happy at a very good price. This is one of those business cards you keep!“

“I contacted Liu Landscape after running into some difficulty with my sideyard and backyard renovation. Crystal quickly scheduled a site visit, and I could tell right away she was very knowledgeable about planning and permitting for my city. This was of utmost importance to me since I had to fire my prior contractor for reneging on promised permits. I requested a 3D design (hardscaping, outdoor kitchen, turf, outdoor tile) and was able to find a lot of inspiration from the company's own website. Crystal delivered the initial design and requested revisions within a couple of days. I really loved the modern design, and we requested a quote for construction as well. Ultimately, I did not pursue construction with Liu Landscape, but this was mostly due to personal budgetary constraints. Her quote was actually very competitive (compared to 5+ other bids). Over several months, Crystal remained willing to correspond with and help me with my project. She even provided a 2D layout upon request. Regarding her communication style, Crystal is quite matter-of-fact over text and e-mails and warm during in-person meetings. It was a very difficult decision to not work with Liu Landscape, because I really loved the design and plan. As mentioned above, I cannot comment specifically on construction, but had positive experiences with communication and design/planning services.“
